This is a bit of an older topic but seemed fitting. I let in on one of my many secrets after the Colour Challenge 2 meetup that I also ride a unicycle.

So here's some photos I've taken of my friends on unicycles! (I was very likely NOT on a unicycle myself when these shots were taken though)

Really popular in the states, Freestyle or Artistic Unicycling... to compare is very similar to figure skating, but on one wheel. There are solo, pairs, small and large group categories.
Image

Trials unicycling would be navigating a line/path through various obstacles. This is what my goal is/was when I first started riding a unicycle. We use a lot of donated cars, boxes, platforms, and spools.
Image

Natural Trials unicycling... same idea, but using nature! This was somewhere in Toronto, although at this point I really can't remember where.
Image

Finally... what the Toronto Unicyclists club is "most known for" in the world-wide stage of sport unicycling... Flaming puck hockey. Where we wait til it's pretty dark, light a puck on fire, and play on! :-)

Could have got better shots for TFC, but they wouldn't let me in with a lens bigger than 70mm

Any tips on finding free sporting events in TO to shoot? I want to get some practice in with my new lens. I play in a TSSC soccer league so I will be trying my luck there, but the TSSC won't give me the shedules for other leagues for privacy reasons (which makes sense I suppose) I have found some schedules for various Toronto District School Board sports but most of the games are too early for me to make it to.

Nice shot!

Its a subjective call but I would delete the light by the tree. Its technically accurate as is but may not need to be there. As is, it makes for a photo with two focal points. I put my finger on the light and I liked the photo more. But as I said, its a subjective call.

That was handheld. Used CS4 to line it up and did some masking and eraser... not sure how to explain it properly... i'm a noob.
Next time, I hope to use a tripod... make things a bit easier :)

Heres a new one:

Similar to playing catch with rifles?

When you hear toothless people in the crowd say, "Now THAT'S Redneck!", you know that you're going to see something ludicrous.

I give you: UTV Racing!!!

I remember going to a race once... and being the ONLY chinese person there [let alone a chinese, little girl]. I somehow still blended in better than some of my friends who went.

Best I've ever been too... and regret not bringing my camera for it: School bus racing. It's the most epic, colourful and insane thing ever. Especially when they're turning the corner, because they're so huge, slip and land on their side and drift till they hit a wall. absolutely amazing!
