the Yemeni boy was around 7 years old and was encharged with the task of buying his family's dinner that day and probably had been on several other instances for many years previously. Kids grow up so much faster in other countries.

Simply amazing. I adore this shot. I can't believe how many great shots you have of children considering you have no kids. Personally, I find it hard to get children to pose; yet despite not having kids, you get such sweet poses from them!

And how do you find time to post if you're always traveling?

I like this one too. I have been thinking about taking a similar shot.
Where was this spin ride? Earlier I posted a thread asking people if they knew of such spin rides in T.O. Good to see my idea was conceived by someone else!!

Now if I'd only make time to go shoot...

Fionah: Thanks for the compliment. I found this one at the Christie Pits park. Yes, I must admit that I was inspired by your question which I read earlier about these rides.

I kind of wish that I had a bit more background though, to get more blurring, not too much that the baby is no longer significant, but just a but more to enhance the effect of the blurring. As it is, there was only very minor cropping to correct the horizontal...

I have to agree. I don't usually look at photos of children, not my cup of tea. But I have been coming back to this thread to look at yours. I notice they are of foreign kids. I am curious as to why. Is it because you are out of the country most of the time or because there seems to be a whole layer of suspicion here in the West that occurs when you take photos of other peoples' children?

Fionah, I travel only about 5 weeks a year. It looks like I travel more because the travel shots make up the bulk of my photos. Having lived in Toronto for over 30 years I feel I've photographed it to death in my film days.

Trevor, I think there a large element of truth to what you say. I never really thought about it but I think you are right. In a foreign country children often love it when an adult wants to take their photo. Some places kids demand for their photo to be taken. Here you do have to be careful with parents - not that I take many children's photos here.
