Ah yes, Giang - that is one of life's eternal questions

I realized I haven't been taking any photos of my own dogs lately. Not sure why. They are forever cute and photogenic.

While I ponder that thought I will continue with the posting of my 'strays of the world'. This poor unfortunate dog was not in the best of shape. Sadly s/he was in better shape than many others. So many strays in India in poor health. Very distressing for a dog lover.
Taken in the back alleyways of Varanasi:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/phil_marion/2571496731/" title="residents of the streets of old Varanasi by Phil Marion, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3123/2571496731_1c32330cfc_o.jpg" width="1024" height="690" alt="residents of the streets of old Varanasi"></a>

Why thanks for the nice compliment Carlton!!

I am reaching the end of my 'dogs around the world' photos though.
This one was taken just before a scrap between two dogs over what I assume was this territory: a small narrow alleyway in Varanasi, India.

There's nothing more bone chilling than watching two animals going at it when you're just a few paces away.

True.
This reminds me that now that winter is over (fingers still firmly crossed) it is time to take my boys to the groomer.

You don't need one of your own. I've posted a dozen shots on this thread of dogs that don't belong to me. Just need to get outside and shake your imagemaker. But not to much (or choose a high shutter speed)

Monty is such a cutie...does he require a lot of walking/outdoor play?

Philmar, both are cute but that Yorkie is so expressive. I love your Flickr album. He seems to like the camera. How much does he weigh (no I wouldn't put him in a handbag)?

Dog from Prague (sounds like a Dr. Suess title)
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/phil_marion/4529499791/" title="dog of Prague by Phil Marion, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4011/4529499791_7db336769a_o.jpg" width="1024" height="1024" alt="dog of Prague"></a>

I'm sure somewhere in there lies a strikingly cute doggie

Suzie, your first one really stands out amongst the photos in this thread. The exposure is PERFECT and the coourful eyes really stand out on the B&W dog. Luverly.
