So I just picked up a Raynox DCR-250. I have no idea how anyone uses it, especially on live objects. Took me all night to get this shot.

Looking good, keep trying and play around with the setting. Specially try to increase the DOF from f/22 to f/32 or higher if possible.

I always loved your shots pinkster, but now that I have a raynox I appreciate them much more. What type of flash do you have?

I'm glad, you're enjoying them, I'm using SB-800 TTL off shoe core (SC-28) with diffuser.

Great series, pinkster2008. I bought a Raynox 250 for my Canon EF100 macro but my hand's not as steady as yours.

Sorry slow replied, somehow I missed your post. My shutter speed are set at 1/200 will help to freeze the action. Steady hand help but a good timing is very important, as soon as the subject is in focus and I took the shot right away. Hope that help.

Thank you for the info.

I wish I had my Raynox 250 with me when I shot this:

Another amazing macro series, pinkster2008.
Wow! Just with your Raynox 250 + macro lens? Ringflash?

This time beside my lens tamron 90mm, Raynox 250, I also add two set of 6 rings Kenko extension tubes. In order to have 4.3 times magnification.

Enjoy.

I'm enjoying it indeed! Thank you for sharing. Very inspiring and kick ass macro work you do. You must have a really steady hands to manually focus that setup! Cheers! :D

I'll second that - awesome shots! Makes my shots with my 1:1 macro lens look feeble by comparison. I've found that working with such a shallow DOF very difficult for handheld shots, which makes your shots all the more amazing to me.

Thank you guys, with the addition of these extension tubes make the lens a bit heavy, I have to use my knee to support (act like a monopod) my camera in order to take these shots.

actually, me and Marcos are thinking of going to a butterfly place soon, if you want you can join, but I don't want to make a big event, as it will surely get pretty hectic with all the people :D
