fionah it was a 20 second 100mm f9 ISO 100 shot from a tripod at the end of the dundas west subway station the timing was 50% luck that the train was in a good position when the shutter closed. I could see some reflected light at the far end of the tunnel so knew a train was coming.

The toilets was a 2007 Nuit Blanche installation by Architecture professors at Ryerson inspired by Duchamp. I did hear a story that some one used at least one sometime in the night. It was again lucky timing to come across them early in the morning near the dew point with just a gentle wind so the mist (powered by water not methane:) was just right.

The professors wanted to use the shot for their portfolio in a show in NY showcase of RU but management nixed the plan I guess they didn't appreciate toilet humour. :)

Agree - wonderful shot. I'm curious about the colours...Was it cross-processed film? expired film colour shifts? or did you do some manner of digital post-production?

It's a combination of enhancing the illumination colour balance from the 2 light sources plus a yellow filter in post. This is from my dslr.
