It has been so cold, I wonder if we can walk on Lake Ontario as we did several years ago.

I thought of maybe getting this together for Monday, but oh well...

I've got a prior engagement, so I won't make the start time if I make it at all. If the ice is sufficient, I want to get some video back and forth on the ferry anyway.

Prior engagement cancelled... and still interested in more than one trip on the ferry (during daylight). I may just join you guys later.

If he is not working you might find Wards Island resident Mark Howard ice fishing

Wow, nice shots. Are those people able to walk from lakeshore to the Island and back? No need for a ferry? What's the route?

They were just walking out to the lake a few hundred metres from Wards island. One of them turned back and the other one remained to ice fish (see above). The trip still requires the ferry because there is always the small channel of broken ice from the ferries. And i believe the Toronto marina Police try to keep a channel open or them and or the firefighting boat.

But today i discovered that one can walk from Cherry Beach to the Leslie Spit.

Nice. Thanks for the inspiration guys. I went on Tuesday (18th) before the thaw for more night lights on the buildings on a work day. Hey Phil, I even got the same cross-country skier.
My set here: http://www.pbase.com/reimar/winter_island

And three samples:
