Is there any plan to go to Stony Creek for the 1812 reenactment afterwards as Paul suggested? Janet, are you planning a separate event?

Yeswanth,

thank you for arranging the exchange.
Ask Darryl to send the payment directly to me. This way, we'll avoid the third bank fee.

Hello Daryl,
I am getting a ride from Mike, since he has to be back in town I will probably be back as well.
But if you are willing to drop me and Paul back in Toronto TTC line I would love to go with you for the rest of the day to shoot the Re-enactment.
I am okay with anyway...
Cheers
Yeshwanth

I wasn't planning to post a separate event, since I didn't want to conflict with this event, and I was expecting this to be an outing for Mississauga Camera Club. The other challenge is that, although I don't expect to work this weekend, I won't be sure until Friday. I could do it though - I would just have to give myself a maybe option.

Getting to the Battle reenactment would really be worth it in my opinion considering this is the actual 200 year anniversary. Im sure they will be doing it better than the usual way every year. They might even use real bullets. I mean it has to be special, right?

I'll try to get an idea today of the likelihood of having to work this weekend. I still won't be sure until Friday. If I do have to work on Saturday, I will probably try for Sunday instead - although I would prefer Saturday, since there are 2 battles that day. I'll probably set up 2 meeting times, since I would prefer to arrive around noon to allow time to shoot the encampment before the first battle.

I'm iffy for the Stony Creek battle due to the forecast for rain on Saturday. I will know better once the weekend is closer. If I'm a go I am sure I can provide a ride.

Is the raptor shoot outdoors weather permitting and indoors if it rains?

Maybe Mike could tell us whether he shot indoors or outdoors or a combination of the two when he shot there last week.

Just to be clear, the meetup is at Mimico GO train station at 9:00 am Saturday morning. Right? Is there room for a 6' pole?

The train will get you there once an hour - I proposed 9am because 10am is too late to get to Mountsberg in time to pay and set-up before the shoot.
There isn't room for a 6' pole - its a car with a small trunk, eh.
Meet-up for everyone (not coming in my car) I assume is 10:45am at the parking lot of Mountsberg in front of the Raptor centre...

Just a reminder to others who are coming, don't pay the park admission when you arrive - its included in the cost of the shoot - Yesh will be given the receipts to put on your vehicle dashboard when he pays, so you will be able to get them from him when you arrive - if there's a person at the gate collecting, tell them you are shooting at the raptor centre as part of the group and will be picking up your park pass when you get in. They will let you through.

Given the weather report for tomorrow I am going to pass on going to Stony Creek after the bird shoot. If it turns out better on Sunday I may run down. I think after Mountsberg I will head over to the Exposure Show.

Looking forward to this shoot and seeing you guys.

Very nice Paul. I meant to ask you why you wanted to bring a six foot pole with you?

I'll set up another in July/August once I get back in town for sure...its a nice shoot, plus there are so many other things of interest at Mountsberg...today, for instance, there were all those goslings, the barn swallows building their nests on the side of the barn, the osprey, the albino bunny, the turtle...and this guy:

Its a 6 foot painters pole which extends to 12 feet. I just wanted more practice with it should the need arise where shooting higher up might be beneficial. Like looking into the bird nests we were shooting from the ground. Also I wasnt sure if I was going to get to go to Stoney Creek for the battle.
Daryl check out ... Hahnel Inspire Wireless Liveview. Its a pretty slick little device I just purchased yesterday.
