What: TPMG January Social
Where: Buffalo Wild Wing in Mississauga. 3015 Argentia Road Mississauga, ON L5N 8E1 (Winston Churchill & 401)
When: January, Saturday 26th, 4PM
Bring: Food and drink money. Camera Equipment if you like. Pig money if you're feeling generous.
Additional Info: The social this month is waaaay out west for a couple reasons. The first is it's been a while since we've been this west and there are a few Mississaugites (yup, that's that they're called) that are members. Hopefully they'll actually come. I haven't hosted one in a looong time and I can only go so far from Burlington and actually having it IN Burlington seemed cheeky. If people want to do a pre-shoot that day (not far from Kelso, Hilton Falls, Tera Cota) go for it but I won't be able to attend. And lastly, no, the kid will not be there. Apparently bringing a baby to a bar is inappropriate... who knew? There will be pictures of him on tablets if people really want to see.

P.S. Buffalo Wild Wing is not that hideous chain Wild Wing. This is the US chain that Wild Wing failed miserably to copy, as hard as they tried, then spent an immense amount of time and energy trying to block from coming to Canada. I have been to a few Buffalo Wild Wings in the US but not one in Canada yet. The US ones are great (if you like wings and beer and everybody does so thus they're great). Hopefully the Canada version is at least better than the bad copy Canada version.

I'll have to be a maybe at the moment.... I need to see what is on the docket that weekend. Nothing currently planned however.

But of course TPMG is a priority?

I'm not sure yet what I will be doing during the day, so I am not yet sure.

Would love to, but I have a week long art exhibit with constant music playing to plan and upkeep.

actually its looking more promising.... I will come to the social, and then afterwards head to Fonthill to stay overnight with my parents, and stop and shoot some waterfalls on the way home the next day.

I'm in for my very first event! How exciting.

I'm one of the mississaugites (is that really a word?).

Looking forward to it if it still ends up happening.

I think I can say probably at this point, and I will confirm one way or the other closer to the date.

How late do these events usually go? I'll be coming back from Milton that evening, but probably not until 7:00 or so.

There have been socials that break up pretty quickly and others that linger for a while. I set it to start a bit earlier as utsc and I have to get back at a reasonable time for the kid (will be 2 months old 2 days after the social). But because we leave does not mean the party leaves with us. Others may stay and hopefully do. It's quite a drive for some of them for a quick dinner and dash. If you can confirm with someone that you're coming they'll likely stick around but I really can't speak for them.

I'd like to come back out to some TPMG events but i'm not going to Mississauga thats way too far haha.

Hi Julian, Usually our organizers and Mods put up Socials and events all over the GTA and this time its in Mississauga, sooner it be closer to your location in no time...

I wish I could attend this, especially as it's out my way. Unfortunately, I already have plans to be away in Buffalo this weekend.

And, BTW, they're called Mississaugans, not Mississaugites. I was one for 20+ years....

They were called that until I changed it. I was one for 20+ years as well. In fact, I was on just down the street from the social except when I lived there the social location was a dirt field.

Julian is a long time TPMG'er ... so he knows the drill quite well!
