CANCELLED:
Sadly I'm going to be working and can't guarantee that I'll be done in time. I'll just leave the registration up for the last minute swell in interest.

What: Attend the Remembrance Day ceremony at Old City Hall followed by a walk up University to visit the Cenotaphs. Ending at Queen's Park grounds.
Where: We can gather at Old City Hall and stake out a good spot.
When: Ceremony starts at 10:45, and things get pretty crowded.
Bring: Telephoto is a good idea for the ceremony. Anything else is good for the cenotaphs and sculptures.
Cost: None.
Additional Info: This is for those who would rather join in Remembrance day events downtown, followed by a bit of a walk under the same general theme.

I actually did this last year on my own: http://flic.kr/s/aHsjwH22jn

There's also a Remembrance day event at the Zoo posted which also looks interesting. So, if registration for this ends up being low, I may end up going to the other event. It's not a competition, please feel free to register for whatever interests you.

People who regularly attend the Old City Hall ceremony on Remembrance Day might want to walk over to the north end of Queen's Park for something different. The 48th Highlanders' Remembrance Sunday service, at the Corps memorial, coincides with Remembrance Day itself this year. (I'll be there, standing with the civilian guests, as my daughter marches with the Corps and the Old Boys as a Cadet.) It is a religious service, though, so the time during which photography might be felt as inappropriate by some of the participants is a bit longer than the two minutes' silence.

I suppose we could do the reverse course and start at Queens Park -- maybe hear McGuinty's last address.

... with all the politicians, the Zoo is sounding better and better.

Just to clarify, the 48th aren't at Old City Hall. They're at the north end of Queen's Park. Old City Hall is business as usual.

Sadly I've had to back out due to work commitments. I hope the rest of you can go on without me.
