What: Visit the "Afterimage: Tod Ainslie's Vision of the War of 1812" display and ROM Friday Night Live photo shoot
Where: Royal Ontario Museum - Sigmund Samuel Gallery of Canada, Level 1
When: Friday November 16, 2012 - Meet outside the entrance at the Crystal between 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM (enter at 7:00 PM) (NOTE: there may be a line up to get in) to approximately 9-10:00 PM
Bring: Camera(s), flash is OK - NO TRIPODS/MONOPODS
Cost: entrance money ($10) - apres shoot money

This visit has two purposes. One is to visit the Afterimage Display in the Sigmund Samuel Gallery of Canada and second to take the remaining time to shoot in the galleries of the ROM during the ROM Friday Night Live when the museum takes on a night club like atmosphere.

Afterimage: Tod Ainslie's Vision of the War of 1812
On the eve of the bicentennial of the War of 1812, the ROM proudly presents Afterimage: Tod Ainslie's Vision of the War of 1812. These evocative photographs, documenting many of the War's historically significant sites, were taken between 2001 and 2009 by Burlington-based Tod Ainslie using three pinhole cameras that he designed and built. The 22 photographic works are displayed in the Wilson Canadian Heritage Exhibition Room.

Expect the unexpected at the most unique social destination in the City.
Drink, dance and explore the Museum at ROM Friday Night Live. Enjoy discounted admission plus programming, eats and beats – every Friday's a different flavour. Fridays from October 12 to November 30, 2012, 7 pm to 12 am (midnight). Last entry at 10:30 pm; Last call at 11:00 pm. Adults 19+ only.

Friday night reduced entrance fee is $10.00 during ROM FNL.

ROM Rules for Photography
Photography with flash and video recording is permitted in most permanent galleries for personal use only, with hand-held equipment. The use of tripods, monopods, etc is not permitted. Photography may not be permitted in special exhibitions. Signs will be conspicuously posted in galleries where photography restrictions are in effect.

There may be a line up to get in and a second line up to buy tickets. You can avoid the second line by buying your tickets on line. There is a $2 service fee, but it is worth it to beat the second line. RECOMMENDED.

And regarding the lack of a maybe registration, there is no maybe because there is only do or do not.

I really enjoyed the last time we did this, even before we knew of the club scene!! I'm in!!

I would like to try yo do this, but wouldn't be able to get downtown until 7:30-ish. I am thinking about trying it though.

No worries. If you arrive a little later just text us. I will PM my cell # to you. Chances are we will split up after the gallery and plan to meet after the shoot at a time and place determined at the ROM.

While I'd love to go to this - I will be flying out to Calgary early Saturday morning and need to spend some time with the fam before off on travels again.

Nothing personal Daryl, and as much as I look forward to when we can do shot camera work together, if its only going to be the two of us I will be backing out of this.

Last time I visited ROM was over 10 years ago. Look forward for this event

I am going to have to pull out of my own event. I am not going to be ale to leave work tomorrow in time to be down town for this event. But the rest of you should go ahead and meet up. I think it will be fun, and I am sorry to have to miss out.
