PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF MEETING LOCATION IN THE POSTS BELOW

What: Horror in the Hammer! (Hamilton Zombie Walk)
Where: Starting at Aldershot GO Station in Burlington NORTH PARKING LOT.
When: Saturday October 27th 1PM (Walk starts at 2PM but I wanna give us time to gather, park and scout)
Bring: Camera Equipment, money for parking & post shoot brain munching. Dress warm!
Additional Info: It's possible the zombies may incorporate you in their fun which includes fake blood so don't wear your finest. Afterwards we will be heading back to Burlington to eat stuff (most if not all of us will be travelling back east anyway). I have a couple pubs in mind and will select one depending on our group size.

Official Sites:
Hamilton Zombie Walk
Hamilton Zombie Walk Blogspot

Camera equipment I suggest is a general zoom or a wide to standard prime (kit lens, 17-55, 24-70/30, 35, 50) for shots in tighter confines(edited) and zombie interaction and something longer that is good for portraiture (85, 135, 70-200, or any of the various longer zooms would work too). For reference If you look through my flickr Undead Set every one of those images was taken with a 70-200. There were times that I would have liked a general zoom with a closer focus distance. How much you use either will depend on our zombie proximity and the spots we can shoot from. These are general suggestions and if you disagree good for you. :)

This will be my first time attending this event so I'm not sure how it will go. I anticipate the zombie quality to be slightly lower but the Hamilton ambiance may be a bit better. Also, the meet location may change, I still gotta map this one out. I kind of want to make the initial meet location outside of Hamilton in case attendees are unfamiliar with Hamilton's unique infrastructure and where it would be best to park. We can carpool in to keep parking costs lower.

I have no example pics from previous Hamilton events but if one is curious what sort of picture can be taken feel free to leaf through my flickr Undead Set full of examples from the last two Toronto walks.

Don't forget the Toronto Zombie Walk Event is still a go on Saturday October 20th being hosted by Jordan.

I may, I repeat, MAY, do an early morning Hamilton area waterfalls tour. This will depend on how freaking exhausted I am and if there is still enough leaves on the ground and in the trees to make it worthwhile. It will all be local Hamilton stuff so we will have enough time to grab a quick fast food lunch and prepare to shoot zombies. Waterfalls that will most likely be included in no particular order are: Sherman, Tiffany, Great Falls (yes, the one at Grindstone Creek AGAIN) and maybe Webster's/Tew's? IF I create this event it will be set up in its own event and people are welcome to attend one or both events that day. I should know by the end of next week if I'm going to do this one too.

If people are not sure how to make it over to Hamilton post a message that you are looking for a ride or need public transit suggestions. If you want to come we'll find a way to get you here. I also want to point out that there is a charity food drive attached to this. If you're interested in donating take a poke through the URLs in the first post to find out what they're looking for (probably the usual stuff) and where to leave your donation.

Now that folks have acquired the taste of brains in the Toronto zombie walk Uhhh come taste some Hamilton flavoured brains! They're full of iron and other stuff. Yeah, I know that's lame.

I'd join in but unfortunately (well fortunately for me) my brains will be in Newfoundland! Have fun and keep your brains safe!

Currently the forecast is not in our, or the walks favour, or maybe it is? Grey and moody might work well. Especially in Hamilton. Regardless, we're still on for a 1PM meet at the usual Aldershot GO spot rain/shine or grey diffused light. If anyone who is considering joining us does not know where Aldershot GO is or how they could get there please ask, it's quite easy.

I'm definitely not going to do waterfalls in the morning. I'm gonna take the opportunity to get some sleep and hopefully get some work done. If anyone is interested there is sill some colour in he trees out that way.

I'm a bit surprised at the level of interest. Hamilton too far? Zombied out from last week? Insular Torontonians? Averse to fun? S'ok, Mike, ofermod and I will have fun without you. :P

Current forecast for the hours of the walk - between 70% - 90% chance of rain (depending on the hour) and 7 degrees celsius...I'm up for anything but its up to my better half if she's willing to brave the rain...I'll let you know in the morning eh.

Yeah, saw that. I'm gonna make the effort to go and check it out even if it's raining I guess...

My like of zombies outweighs my disdain for rain so I should be good to go...she can always bring an umbrella and an extra sweater ;-)

I'm also committed to go, lest I appear on ions' no-show list.

Let's see what happens.

Krap. Something's happened. :(

Looks like I have to help tend to my Grandfather who is in the hospital, and possibly my Mom who hit her head on the bus when the driver took off too fast while she was on her way to tend to my Grandfather.

Sorry, man.

Jeez Ben! I hope everyone is ok! Take care.

Mike and I will soldier on in the fight to take pictures of the Undead. The walk is to go on rain or shine according to their Web site. It's still raining pretty steady here at nearly 10:30AM. Looks like a weather test day for the camera.

Dude, do you want to meet up a half hour earlier? From what I remember, I got a lot more good pictures BEFORE the walk while the zombie hoard was assembling at the starting park...I can meet you at the bay front park in hamilton and we can take one car up to gore park, walk with the zombies to the bay front then drive back up and get the other car?

Sure, if you like. I was actually thinking that since it's just the two of us we could probably streamline the meet process. Would you be able to pick me up at my place? I'll text you.

Anyone else planning on attending? Please speak up now so our changing of the meet up doesn't screw you over!

It'll be easier with two cars - one at each end, just like we do at the waterfalls, no?

Yup, agreed. If anyone is coming please note the change of plans. You can PM me to get a hold of me during the event (hopefully) if you're trying to track Mike and I down.

Thanks for coming out Mike, and Haja who was a very good sport. Getting soaked in the rain wouldn't have been the same without you guys!

I must admit the zombie quality was a bit better than I expected.

Rain does not deter the zombie horde!

Fun time, and a lot more zombies, and a lot less photogs than I expected!
Thanks for setting up and coming out Chris.

Well, the weekend has not gotten any better. Been tending to a sick database at work for the past 8hrs, and it's still not back up.

At least the family is ok.

I may have to start looking like some of these pictures soon... without the aid of makeup.
