What: Reenactment of the Battle of Queenston Heights
Where: Meet at Niagara Butterfly Conservatory Parking Lot
When:10:00am
Bring:Camera,
Cost:N/A
Additional Info: I expect this will be a large event, with a lot of spectators. The following is a list of the events for the day:

10:00 am Brock Dead House dedication at 20 Queenston St in the Village of Queenston

10:30 am Commemortive Walking Tour with Dr Wesley Turner for an in-depth tour ($20.00 per person)

11:00 am till 2:00 pm – Guided tour of the battle site on the hour. Musical Entertainment on the Heights at the band Shell.

3:00 pm – Re-enactment of the Battle of Queenston Heights. Over 800 re-enactors registered to recreate the battle. Be a witness to history.

4:30 pm – Commemorative ceremony at the base of Brock’s Monument

5:30 pm Brock's Body Leaves Queentston Heights on a horse drawn wagon.

6:00 pm Musical Entertainment by Gin Lane

7:15 pm – Fireworks display at Queenston Heights.

I would like to try to do one of the guided tours of the battle site in order to try to get an idea of the best spot for viewing/photographing the battle. If anyone has any suggestions of a good location, those suggestions would be appreciated.

"There will be an all-day FREE shuttle service from 9:00 am till after the fireworks on a continuous circuit. There will be stops at the Butterfly Conservatory, Queenston Hts., Laura Secord House, McFarland House, and Fort George parking lot." I just picked the butterfly conservatory parking lot because I know it has a good sized parking lot.

Depending on how close you can get & how many re-enactors are involved, these can be great events to shoot. I used to be part of an English Civil War group & we regularly put out 2000-3000 members at a battle. Lots of colour, fire & smoke. Timing your shot for when the cannons or muskets fire is tricky but can give some nice results.
