I think I want to come for this one -- I've never been, and it looks like it could be fun.

QUESTION:
Will I need model releases if I might want to post any of the photos of the undead on FB, or on my personal website? I wouldn't be selling the photos (that I know of, I just don't think I'm good enough that anyone would want to buy any!)... but I would want to show them off for sure!

Thanks in advance :D

It's a public event so no model releases as long as you don't sell them for commercial purposes. Single art sales are OK. Even though it's within your legal rights to take photos still be polite if someone doesn't want their photo taken then don't take it.

Sigh.... This is my probably my favourite event of the year and I've managed to double book myself. I have a pre-natal classes booked which, for hopefully obvious reasons, takes precedence that Saturday. This is a really great event that people have a pile of fun at. I'm hoping someone else can pick this up. My sincerest apologies... I was so looking forward to this one and have a blast with it. Please, someone pick this up and host a great event for the TPMG folks. I will continue to pay attention to this thread so that if anyone who decides they can take on hosting this has questions I can answer and edit the initial posts with meeting details they want added. I'll be watching jealously (even though I am thoroughly otherwise engaged that day).

Unfortunately, I can't take over the organization of this, as I may have to work in the morning. Although I should still be able to come, I could be late, which doesn't work for leading an event. I let the organizer know if this does happen.

Thanks anyway Janet. hotwire, you feel like taking this one over?

Thank you Janet for sending me a PM about the Hamilton Zombie event taking place on October 27th. I'm gonna check my calendar for conflicts. Then check it again. If I'm clear I'll certainly host an event for that. Thank you for the reminder of that event Janet! I had forgotten all about it. I enjoy shooting zombies and hopefully this Hamilton event will mean I don't miss it this year.

I hope the Toronto event still goes on! I bet with the political state as it is with our brain dead mayor there'll be a lot of political statements being made.

And just plain fun too if politics isn't your bag of brains.

And hotwire, remember I told you about Zombie Donna Troy?

Speaking of Zombies and pre-natal classes, here's a good idea for Ashley's Halloween costume.

LOL - thanks Bart, that's actually pretty awesome.

And I'm sorry guys for being ruining the event but I've had this booked for quite some time...and someone may have forgot about it ;) While I'm sure learning about epidurals and dirty diapers isn't as fun as zombies... it's gotta be done!

I'll step up and take over this event. Never done the walk before but always have. So I'll try my best to run this thing. I'll provide more details once I have talked to ions.

Hi ... new to the group and looking forward to going on my first Zombie Walk in good old Toronto. Is this organized, i.e.: do you all have a meeting place to say Hi and then everyone on their own?

Hi SammyCat, and welcome to TPMG. Yes the first 15th posts need to be approved - to help prevent spamming.

And of course all are welcome on any photo events, even newbies! I am just taking over running this events so I do not yet have the details of a meet place, etc, yet but will post shortly.

Cheers,

Jordan

Good question. Ummmm maybe the 14th? Or perhaps before the Hamilton zombie walk on the 27th? Or perhaps both? By soon I will have it sorted.

Edit: Changed date from 13th to 14th. I meant the Sunday but put Saturday's date.

I wonder if a Zombie will actaully break character and be like "Hello, don't take a photo of me".

Well, they put so much hard work into getting their zombie make up done, I'd hope they would like their picture taken

I once witnessed a girl zombie posing for her girl photographer friend near a church, when a group of 10 tpmg photographers swarmed them and started to impose their flashes and telling the zombie which way to look, etc. The zombie looked really uncomfortable and the friend photographer wasn't getting any shots due to the flash and ordering the zombie. It was quite inconsiderate to the point the two girls had to leave!

So please be mindful of what is going on. Don't impose yourself without permission and don't hold zombies up just because you need to take 50 shots!

Wow, I never thought of that but I could totally see it happening.

By TPMG you are referring to the Toronto Paparazzi Meet-up Group and not this TPMG group… Right?

I'd very much like to sit there and wait for a zombie to come up to me. That way it looks like they're going to eat me  and you know they want to be photographed since they're walking right up to the camera!

They are not the same? :).

In all honesty, a lot of the zombies do love having their photos taken and they have given me some great photos. But some are camera shy or annoyed with the paparazzi and it is always polite to ask first, even if it's just with a smile and a gesture with the camera before you shove it in someone's face. Ppl who don't want their pictures taken will turn away, those who do will usually give a nod or small smile.
