I stopped in at SR&R to meet with and drop off some prints for the owner. He was very happy.
I gave John about 10 photo's and offered him the file to any image in the event he wants to
get a print larger than the 5x7s which I gave him.

What- reshoot for the front of the diner with vintage cars
Where-Shake Rabble & roll diner in Whitby. 939 Dundas Street West
When-Sept 15-16 2012 est time 9-10am? T.B.C. depends on weather.
Cost-$ 0.00 but photos/image files for car owners are a MUST.
Bring-you,your camera and what ever else you might need.

I assume it's the same group? plus Bynx. No model?

Please remember to pass on some files to the car owners. If they get nothing
I'm not sure we will have any car/owners willing to come out for the next shoot.

Cheers

Hey There,
I'm a very new member to the board, so I wasn't at the last one, and, I've never shot old cars before - but gosh it sounds like fun! I'd love to come!
I cannot promise that any of my shots will turn out since I've never shot old cars - but I'd love to try! I'd be more than happy to give over the images of anything that might turn out half decent!

May I join in pls?!
If not, just let me know... I can handle a "no". :)

Thanks.

I'll come out for this one for a burger alone. I did send a pm out to attendees of the last one with all the email addresses. I don't know if anything has been sent to them. I hope so, they were all very keen on getting pics. Any thoughts on shooting the cars just in front of the diner instead of on grass in the back?

I will be there for sure with no side tours to get in the way. Anyone from the last shoot will get the extra money back they paid out. And I will try to get a model -- no charge.

I will come for this, and also will not interrupt by other plan.

Please save me a spot. Thank you in advance.

I think the plan for this shoot was to get the cars in front of the diner? At least for me as we ran a bit short of time and light last time.
I'm sure we can move the cars onto the grass after the shoot. It should be better as the grass area won't be packed with cars and we can isolate
and park the car wherever.
Should be great.

I have no problem with others joining this shoot.

Based on TPE the sun will rise at 6:55 AM on the 15th and by 9:00 AM will be just behind the diner. Shooting at the front of the diner toward the diner will be into the sun. The parking area and gravel patch at the west end of the lot may be an option to put the sun behind us, although I know there is a desire to have the diner in the background. The front of the diner probably can work it just will mean playing with the angles.

I liked having the modes last time but unfortunately most of my photos from the last event were of the models with bits of the cars. To make sure that the owners get photos they want what do you think if we set up a space for car portraits and we ask the owner what they would like such as full car, details, the owner in the picture?

I'm very interested. The 16th works best for me although I could likely make the 15th work. I think you can accommodate more participants than last time as most of the shooting was group shooting, but you will still want to limit it to some number (10?). If you had 20 people turnout you will be herding wildcats.

Either day works for me. I will be sending out a coupe of car shots this afternoon - I did get a couple of nice ones of the orange car.

Peter can you send me your email I have a shot or two of the diner the owner may like.

Cheers,

Jordan

Hi I am a new member who would be interested in coming to this session. Other than confirming on this thread and showing up is there anything else that I need to do? Also, is there a car-share option for this event or others? If yes, where can I find out more and how would I participate?

I would be interested in this but was wondering if anyone is going from Scarborough to this event as I no longer have a car.

I will be stopping by the site on Monday night to get the final details on the reshoot.
What day/time works best for everyone?
just an FYI, if we pick any other time after 11am (opening time) we may not have
control over the front on the restaurant.

I would expect the shoot to take place in about 2 weeks.

Cheers.

For those who have not sent any photo's in to the owners. please do so ASAP.

Doesn't look good for me to attend.

I will not be available the weekends of:

September 22/23
September 29/30
October 6/7 (Thanksgiving Weekend)

Originally you suggested the 15th or 16th. I can only do the 16th. Sorry this is a busy time of year for me and I have limited openings.

I can still ask for that date. (15/16) The owner has been away for the last little bit.
More details should be available on Monday night.

Sounds good but later time would be better. The lighting sucks in the morning/afternoon. Its best when it gets a bit darker and the lights are on inside the diner.

Same with me - I'm only really free on sept 16th (maybe early on the 15th) and after that not until October.

I was not able to see anyone last night or get any further details.
My suggestion would be to either show up and do the shoot next Sat or the Monday and see
how we make out? It seems we have a few from the last shoot who are unable to attend this time, as well others who
would like to take there place? That works for me.
I plan on going around 6pm on which ever date we can get the best turn out/weather.
I will still stop by the diner this week to speak with the owner so I will post those details later
in the week.

Cheers

As we seem to have many who can't make it this time, and several others who would like to I think we
should just make this very informal.
Paul suggested this Sat? That works for me. Are there others who could attend on this date?
The next date available would be Monday, that may be tough for some.
I'm not sure how many more weeks the cars will be out as the weather
starts to change.
Please post if you can make it. I think anytime after 5-5:30 pm might be fine.

What say the masses?

Cheers

I cannot do Saturday. I am out of town. Hey, I thought we were going to set up a special shoot one morning with select vehicles as opposed to hitting the drive in night again?

The morning shoot was the original plan for shoot 2 but several people have mentioned
that at that time of day the location would be backlit with the diner front in the shade.
I was in favour of the morning/controlled shoot as well, but I doubt we would get decent results?

We can still try for a morning shoot the following week as shoot #3? I will ask and
see how long the cars are available.

Details to be posted as info becomes available.

It was a good time, and the weather was perfect.

Good stuff Paul. Nice seeing you and the family on Sat. night.
I too got the shots that I wanted, but didn't get in the last shoot.

I also became aware that I'm the only one to date that provided the owner with
prints and files. WTF?
I know we have issues with flakes not showing at events, but here we have
CHUMPS who don't wanna share a few photo's with a group that was very accommodating to us.

Thanks everyone for putting me in a real awkward position.

I don't believe I was ever given the owners email address. I did send out some photos to the can owners who emails I had. Peter if you pm me your email I can pass along a couple of photos for the owner (but will have to wait until the weekend as I'm away on business this week.
