When a proper event is set up please remember that dgibson, Bynx and Simon have spots and anyone who takes one of their spots will be removed.

petezee, please read the Posting Events READ ME BEFORE POSTING AN EVENT! thread at the top of the events section for directions on how to set up an event. These guidelines are a must as they inform people who are going to attend your events what it's all about in a way that is consistent with the other events on the board.

Sounds like fun! Enjoy! :)

Do we know what the cost will be? Depending on costs I'd be interested in signing up.

Best sign first and check the cost later. You can always drop out if it is too much, but I expect that last space will be gone before you know it.

Sorry if there was any confusion with this event? This was my first setup here so I will know better for next time.
Looks like we are FULL. Jordanfaust is in.
There is NO cost for the site or cars. It is a charity based event. They do sell 50/50 tickets and stuff for Grandview special ed program.
I usually buy $5 worth of tickets.
Dileep and bynx are working on models so I don't know if there is a cost there.

Cheers

Sorry about the merge confusion, Not sure why they removed in reverse of the way I intended. I have added the usual signup format to the first post so it will be clear from there what the event is about. dgibson, Bynx, Simon Dileep, jordanfaust and petezee - please add yourselves to the signup ASAP so I don't have to remove people that don't read the post. :)

No problem at all. We use that format around here because it's an easy way to get the details of an event quickly for those that may be interested in participating. It's also easier to moderate the event posts to make sure that they follow the terms of use and so on. If you have any questions about that feel free to ask myself or another mod. Like I said before, it looks like a great event and I hope to see more of them as it'd be something I'd like to participate in at another time. You have a good reliable group signed up so I can't imagine you needing the wait list but it's there just in case.

Sorry I botched the thread merge. I merged the threads because there was a concurrent discussion going on so they may as well have been together. Thank you guys for registering as soon as it was available.

Julia got back to me this morning.

For about 2-3 hours of shooting I would charge $150. I will also come hair and makeup ready. As for wardrobe. I could pull a bunch of pieces from the the poodle type skirts to the the black tights and leather jacket.

This is her. I think she would be ideal.

What will be the arrangements? Is this a car meet and we are just shooting around it? Will we have to contend with spectators and the cars being parked with numerous other cars? Or will we be able to work with the cars and models without crowds and other display cars around them and in the backgrounds?

I'm okay with model you chose.. which works out to 25 bucks per person. I can find model and MUA but it might increase the cost.

Cheers

I just read the post above.
It is a car show at SR&R. The owner indicated that we can have certain cars move to the front of the restaurant
He will clear the front out as long as we give him a timeline. There should be a lot of flexibility as numerous car owners
should be willing to participate.
I'm meeting the owner and organizer again this week,so I should get a better idea.

Sounds good. I have been to classic car gatherings and while they are cool and good for details they normally are not good for getting the whole car or most of the car. Checking TPE suggests that we will have a good angle on the sunset that night. Sunset on the 4th is around 8:30.

After talking with PeetZee Ive contacted Julia again to book her. Im waiting to hear back if she is still available. While 8:30pm is a good time, the problem will be all the regular customers and their cars that will be there as well. I was thinking of contacting the owner and seeing if he could stay open a bit for the shoot to take place when the parking lot has only the vintage cars in it.

Hey Bynx
The plan is to have a number of vintage cars parked out front just as it were a diner in the 50s.
I was thinking we should first pick the cars we want in the shoot and speak with those owners by 7pm (over a 100 cars last week)
As we get closer to the magic hour we could ask those cars to move into the scene by 7:30 as to give us a good window of opportunity.
I'm sure we can get them to stay for a "night time" shoot as we would already be set up and shooting.
I think it will go very well.
We can clear any modern day vehicles and obstructions out of the way to give us a decent look?

I will make contact this week with a dozen or so potential car/owners. My wife works with the event founder so
he will help us recruit if we get in a jam.
