i'll definitely try to make this meet. I'm new to the board and looking forward to meet local fellow em5 users. Right now the camera is way way better than the photographer!

regards, Amando

Rob, will the event be moved inside if it rains or be cancelled? I opted not to get the 12-50 weather proof lens :)

Cheers,
(hoping for good weather) Leo

The front patio area is under the building's overhang, so you'd be able to practice your lightning shots if it rains ;)

If you look at the pictures on the first page, you'll see how it's protected.

Great location, good food, good company. Add to that cameras and lenses - what better way to spend a sunny summer Sunday afternoon. Thanks for organizing this Rob. Sorry more people didn't show up.

A back patio and an honest to goodness courtyard, at a pub that close to downtown. Who would have guessed?

Good to see you all. Looks like we've found a new meeting place :)

Thanks for organizing this event Rob. It was a pleasure meeting you and the other members. As you know I took a few snaps which I would like to share but I don't know how or if it is allowed.

I have absolutely no problem with you sharing them and I doubt that anyone else would either. I have a few too, but they're just crappy snaps. Like I mentioned my hands are none too steady, and I'm more used to shooting moving targets than static ones.

Another good event. The patio was excellent and I'd definitely go back.

I did not catch the u4/3 bug, as I did not like the ergonomics, but I think the technology evolution to EVFs in consumer grade cameras is unstoppable.

Thanks for organising Rob.

Mike's suggestion of Granite Brewery was excellent, not to mention it limited his commute to 5 minutes for the meet  I think we'll be back.

I just set up a flickr account but I don't know how to post a picture here so here is the link to my flickr photos . BTW the photos on flickr look a little overcooked and over sharpened.

You did infinitely better than I did. Guess I was stuck in gear mode, not photographer mode  My shaky hands weren't doing very well in the dim light under the awning. I should have just bumped the ISO. Just a few shots, both OK and bad.

I hope this shows better image quality than the flickr link
