What: Toronto Islands Summer Photowalk
When: Saturday July 28, 2012
Time: 3:45 pm
Where: Toronto Island Ferry Docks
Bring: Camera, lenses, water, sunscreen, tripod, etc.

The Plan: We'll be taking the 3:45 pm Ferry to Wards island so let's meet for 3pm inside the waiting area of the dock (after you pay). We'll walk through the "Village" and along the top side of the island over to the pier, and also down below in the beach areas and around rocks. Then we'll head over to centre island part with all the action is, including lots of nice flowers. We should be able to get some food somewhere come supper time. Sunset is at 8:44pm, so those inclined can stick around and do some cityscapes at night and even maybe some painting with light. Keep in mind the last ferry is at 11:45pm. If there is no interest in night photos we can all head back and grab some food or drink or just go our separate ways home, I'm fairly easy and up for anything.

Directions
The Toronto Ferry Docks is located at the foot of Bay Street and Queens Quay, just West of the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel.

Directions by TTC: From union station take the 509 Harbourfront or the 510 Spadina streetcar south to the Bay and Queen's Quay Stop. Alternately, take the Bay Bus #6 southbound from the corner of Front and Bay to the Bay and Queen's Quay stop. The entrance to the ferry docks is on the south side of the street, just east of the Westin Harbour Castle hotel.

Walk / Drive: Main entrance at foot of Bay St on Queens Quay. Enter through park and enter via walkway between Harbour Castle Westin Hotel and Harbour Castle condominiums. Parking is available 1 block north at Lakeshore and Bay, 1 block west on Queens Quay between Bay and York Sts, 1 block east opposite Toronto Star building adjacent to Captain Johns restaurant.

I love the islands too but 'not sure if the islands are calling'

Hopefully, I don't have to work that weekend.

Jordon... I am actually looking to have the summer social over on the island - at the Rectory. Haven't looked into a date yet.

As long as the date you pick works for me (im free) I'd be ok with changing the date of this to correspond with the social.

Hey David do you know if that day is going to work for the summer social?

At this point, I am cautiously optimistic that I will be able to make this. It does depend on if/when I have to work this weekend. If I do work Saturday, the shift would most likely end at 2:30pm, so I might have to catch the next ferry and meet you on the Islands. I will post again when I know more.

I have a few lighting gyzmos I will bring with me as well as the steel wool.

Just an FYI for everyone - I probably will not stay for the night shooting myself - it was a long week in Calgary and I would like to spend some time with the fam as well.
