What: Kensington Market 50mm or less walk, show and tell
When: Sunday March 25th
Time: 1:00 pm
Where: (please see map) In Bellvue Square Park at the corner of Augusta Ave and Wales Ave
Bring: Camera, 50mm or less lense(s), tripod, flash, creative hat

Click for the Map!
For those who drive:Please see the map as well, I've marked a Green P lot that often has lots of space available for a nominal fee.
For those taking transit, I have also marked routes in case you are unfamiliar with the area or the routes.

There is a lot of great stuff in our neck of the woods, and a lot of stuff that we see photos of every day.
The goal: break out of our photographic shells. Let's keep it to 50mm lenses or less. Do you have an 8mm lens, or a 14-24? Cool, bring them out! Let's leave the Bigger stuff at home for this day. I'd love to encourage people to share their gear if they are so willing. By no means should you stay home if you don't have a 50mm or less, in fact you should come out as I'd love for people to do a show and tell of photos that they've taken with a 50mm or less! (A theme... I know).
Want to shoot with you 70-200 on this walk? Go for it. But show us some of your photos taken with a 50mm or less. Show the beginners how much fun a fast prime can be, or how you can capture your frame with your ultra-wide.
Want to set up a strobe shoot in the market? Bring your gear! This place is always friendly, and in the past have been hugely successful.

Bring out your film, your digital, your point and shoots, your cell phone cameras. Based on the size of the group we'll head to one of the many fine local establishments later on in the afternoon and have a drink and a bite to eat.

awww

And yet despite my best intentions, something of importance has come up.
As such Ashley (utsc2006) will be heading up this wonderful afternoon.
I hope to be able to make it out for the latter end of this wonderful afternoon/event!

Weather forecast looks great for tomorrow afternoon. After today's cold, wet and windy afternoon I was worried as the forecast early this morning was the same for Sunday.

Thank goodness the weather will change for tomorrow. If anyone feels like they may be late, PM me as I'll be checking the forum as we go along. Hopefully I can lead the group in Alex's absence!!!

For those who cannot wait until tomorrow, a DigitalRev classic. Please note "Don't" #1

If I shoot medium format I have to shoot 80mm which is equivalent to a 45mm full frame.

If some of the crop body people (1.5/1.6 crop) shoot 50mm...
...they'll be shooting 80mm full frame equivalent...
...so you'll be shooting 80mm...
...but really shooting 45mm...
...and they'll be shooting 50mm...
...but really shooting 80mm...
...my head hurts...

Good link. Bit of a Leica whore isn't he. So, no trench coat tomorrow then. Darn, and after I cut out the pockets!

Enjoyable day and I found this a fun shoot. Good discussion afterwards as well. Thanks to everyone for being so great and being part of the event. And a special call out and thanks to Ashley (utsc2006) for taking over for Alexander so the show could go on.

Great day with great people. A special thanks to Alex for organizing and forcing everyone to work for their photos with the lens restrictions. And another special thanks to Ashley for taking over running this event and making sure everyone had fun and didn't get lost.

Here are a few of my photos from today - I have a couple more not posted here but up on Flickr.

Thanks to everyone for being such great hosts/hostesses and being so welcoming of new comers!

I really support Ryan's idea of having street/candid photography seminars and that we should have more street photowalks! :-)

I am sorry if I couldn't remember all your names. I am great with faces but not with names :-(

Normally I self impose on myself, thought it might be fun to spread the challenge, and Kensington can be such a great place for that!
Great shots so far folks, I'm sad that I missed it.
