What: Bronte Creek Maple Syrup Festival
When: Sat. Mar. 10
Time: 9:00am
Meeting Location: Carpool Lot at QEW/Bronte Road

http://www.brontecreek.org/bronte-creek ... stival.htm

Since the cost is $16/vehicle, I thought that by meeting at the carpool lot, we could reduce the cost by meeting at the carpool lot and carpooling to Bronte Creek Park. By meeting at the carpool lot at 9:00am, we should be able to leave there in time to get to the park for the 9:30am start of the festival.

I haven't been to this Maple Syrup Festival before, but it looks interesting - costumed interpreters, Spruce Lane Farmhouse, maple syrup demonstrations (of course). After we are done with the Festival, there are some hiking paths in Bronte Creek that we can explore.

Darn, that's a very busy weekend for me and I am up north on the Saturday. Good luck everyone. Long distance forecast looks good right now.

Oh, something else that may be of interest for after the festival is Bronte Harbour is not far away and is good for waterfowl.

Thanks Janet for organizing the event.

It was a great day with the 5 of us. Sorry the 2 people who were sick you missed a fun day.

Oh yes it was also full of sugar -- maple flavored to be exact. As well as some shots that included sugar too and the process of Maple Syrup also the Victorian House and some animals

Maple Syrup on Pancake with a sausage, bacon and a Hot Chocolate
Maple Sugar Candies
Maple Taffy

It was a great treat at the end when we exclusively got into the barn to see the 9 week old baby pig. Hey it never hurts to ask, especially when we were told about them. They were so cute, even the little runt.

Final stop at Montana for a relaxing meal. Some coloring and drawing of pictures on the table covering. -- Portraits, flowers, bunnies, red barn, pigs, maple syrup and candy..... the meals were tasty and the company fun.
