What: Winter shots at Fifty Point Beach (Stoney Creek Area)
When: Sunday January 15, 2012
Time: Before sunrise - which is 7:48am - I will most likely be there before 7am - love the dawn light.
Where: Fifty Point Beach
Bring: Camera, lenses, tripod, warm clothing

Ok well it's that time again to attempt fifty point beach in winter - last winter wasn't quite what I hoped. by the time we went in February everything was completely frozen over (you could actually walk out onto the lake way past the actual broken piers!). I am hoping this time we'll still have water in the photos and some nice snow on top of the piers (assuming the weather cooperates)

As it is Sunday and this has been a long week for me - after I am done at Fifty Point Beach I am going home to relax!! Those that come out are welcome to venture out on their own for further photographic opportunities.

I won't be able to do the secondary date, but I am in for the 14th.

I am going to have to postpone this event - the weather is definitely not going to be cooperating for proper winter photos at fifty point beach. I will update with a new date when the weather starts cooperating - Where the hell is winter already????

I just called my Father to cancel my visit for next weekend. Apparently, it was even warmer in Vineland: 15C.

I think I will register as "I'm staying in bed" and dreaming of snow and frostbite.

Winter is here!!! Looks like this Sunday is a good day for this event as we'll get snow tomorrow and Friday. Temperature will be -6/-7 for the weekend and we may get snow on Saturday too.

I'm in if we are going this Sunday.

This weekend would still work for me. Given my schedule, it might be my best chance of getting the right conditions.

Yes I think I am in agreement on that - so I will set this then for a Sunday morning shoot! Hopefully enough snow will have fallen to give the effect I am going after - but I guess may as well take a chance and see what happens! Bundle warm everyone!!

I might head over to Niagara Falls after Fifty Point.

I'm available on both days this weekend should you wish to switch this event to Saturday.

I phoned my Father last night, and told him I would be coming down on Saturday afternoon and be gone on Sunday. I could change it again, but would rather not unless Saturday is more convenient for others.

Now that we got some snow, count me in!

If you guys want to carpool, I can pick up 3 people from Yorkdale Mall.

I would but I have so much stuff on the go these next few weeks that after we are done at fifty point beach I just want to head home (so probably no later then an hour after sunrise) - so unless you want to do the same its probably best I drive myself. Thanks for the offer though.

Hey I just wanted to give everyone a heads up - I came down with something last night - not sure what it is - but I may have to bail on Sunday

I will just have to play it by ear - but I'm seriously thinking of taking it very easy this weekend. If I am a no show I hope you guys get some great shots!

Alice asked me for GPS coordinates. I was able to give her the road name, and directions from memory, but could not find the coordinates for her.

Looks like there's only 1 parking. So I'll assume that we're meeting up someone near there at 43.225327,-79.619843

There is room for more than one vehicle.

You can easily park like 4-5 vehicles - you park on the street (not allowed until 5am) which obviously will not be a factor for you guys. For those of you who are not familiar with Fifty Point Beach it is actually not part of the Conservation area and you just park on the side street and walk your way down - its right next door to the government firing range
