If you wait for the weather all the time, nothing would get shot. These outings are really good exercises as well as interesting bits of info. Sunny would be nice, but then the sleet was okay as well. Here are a few from yesterday. Just click on them to enlarge.

Don't get me wrong, although I will infinitely prefer overcast and any weather to sunny skies, but I would have loved some snow in my shots.

If you look at the trees behind Maureen in the shot on top of the dam with her walking toward me you can see the sleet falling. The snow we wanted didnt come until it got dark, and the sun didnt show up until the next day. If there is divine intervention that was a good example of it. Is that your Chris? I havent got names to faces yet, let alone internet names to faces.

What a nice shot. Another way of thinking. We go to see the mill forgetting that the mill can be a good backdrop for another kind of photo. Hey, why no mill pics?

They're too predictable:

... or just click thru to flickr. I'm sure you'll find them.

hahaha!! true that it's predictable but that's what you came for though, to shoot the mills?

it's like going to an expensive seafood restaurant then order a burger :)

Terrible analogy.
Order the burger, but don't expect it to be very good.
It's still a burger though!

Creativity and good shots can be crafted anywhere, maybe ofermod likes the different experiences? :D

The analogy is more like going to an expensive seafood restaraunt, whose name shall we say is of a certain crustacean of a particular colour, and ordering the salmon.

Plenty of water breathing options out there... and on that day we got a whole lot of water!

... and an education on catching fish, thanks to Jeniffer.

I had steak at a lobster house once ..... it was ok, but I hate sea food. wasn't my choice of restaurant. It was quite a wet day.... I am not sure what I got yet, as I haven't taken the time to look.

Nice image of the Hespler Mill -- looks like it could use some slight lens correction to fix the horizontal perspective.

Ya I wasnt sure about that since I was at one end and it was a long building. Would the left side be a bit shorter than the right side causing a visual slope?

Well, specializing in photographing historic places is my thing ... so its always a bit of a history lesson on my trips. Believe it or not ... I am currently planning a waterfalls workshop for the winter and spring - not for TPMG however, as I am going to be charging.
