M-mount social

What: M-mount social
When: December 7, Wednesday
Time: 7:00PM
Where: The Foggy Dew
Bring: Your precious little Leicas, Zeiss Ikons and Voigtlanders bodies and lenses

Just a gathering of folks who use the M-mount to hang out, chat, exchange experiences, try out other people's lenses, perhaps some trading and buying and if time permits shooting in the night with 400 ISO film hand held at 1/8 of a second where D/SLR users can only dream about or use a tripod! HA HA HA :-)

Drop by after work if you can :-) Thanks.

This only allows us to chose "one" item - the radio button sort of does that :) - I would be ok for a weekend afternoon/evening depending on the date and my schedule of course.

Sorry, this might be the wrong place to ask this question, but what is it about shooting with these cameras that allows one to shoot at 1/8s and get sharp images over DSLR users?

Perhaps because these cameras generally have more heft and the users are typically more skilled at holding the camera steady?

I'm down with Eric's suggestions - but I'm withholding confirmation till we have a firm date.

Cheers,
Dave

I'm fine with Foggy Dew as well. It's like 5 minutes from work!

Had better traction in the General Photography section ... :-(

I guess I should be more specific and set a date instead of setting up a poll for a date. Ah, the inefficiency of a democracy :-( LOL

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011 - 7PM - Foggy Dew. How's that? You can't please everyone with events. Unfortunately, that's the way it goes.

We've had multiple film socials at the Foggy Dew and it's always been great. I think most of them were on Wednesdays too!

You might want to edit the thread title and information to suit.

Uhh... I'm not organizing this! I would suggest making this a little bit more official. And you should contact the pub and book a table. We usually sit in the back corner.

Turns out this Wednesday the Toronto flickr social is already happening, they have a lot of film people. I'm sure you could show up and take up a corner with M mount of you didn't have enough.

Perhaps that would be a good idea. Haven't been to a Flickr social in a long time.

Newbie here... Beside cocktails, cameras and conversation, does the group host any M only outings?
