Holy sea cow. Isn't that the entire navy? Except for the rusty submarine.

The bridge.

Just don't kick the side of the ship. Ours have been known to be that fragile.

The bridge is the traditional control room usually from which the ship is steered etc. and is located up on the superstructure at the front of the ship with windows.

Modern warships also have an Operations Room, also called the Command Information Centre (CIC) in some navies, filled with electronic/computer equipment which is often in the heart of the ship for more protection. There is also a Communication Control Room on the warships. So it could have been any of them that Bartimus saw.

Based on your descriptions it was the Bridge, make it so number one.

When I was in the Navy we didn't usually allow civilians in the C&C (Command & Control) room and especially not the Communications room. Too much classified equipment.

I saw in the news that the ship was here and went down there this morning not knowing it was not open for public viewing yet at that hour. I was standing on the scaffolding entrance way taking photos of the adjacent construction cranes in the fog - suddenly the structure starts shaking because it feels like several people are coming up the scaffolding structure - I turn and see that it is but one person. One Rob Ford. I said hello but His Eminence didn't seem very amiable, blew past me and headed for the ceremonial buffet. Luckily I had slapped on my wide and took his photo. He was there to be part of some hand shaking exercise with Jim Flaherty and sons/daughters of fallen servicemen.
