Details:

What: Sunrise at Ashbridges Bay
When: Sunday, May 1, 2011
Time: 5AM
Where: Meet at Balmy Beach Club Parking Lot (Fir Ave & Beech Ave)
Bring: camera & tripod (dress warm)

According to the Weather forecast, it will be cloudy with sunny breaks around 6AM. Sunrise at 6:10AM. We should get some great sunrise photos :).

Okay, you lost me. Where are you shooting? Ashbridges bay or Balmy Beach?

We are shooting at Ashbridges Bay but meet at the Balmy Beach Club Parking Lot. It's free parking there.

Not going to go all the way over to Balmy Beach just to turn around and come back to Ashbridges. I'm just east of Woodbine, I'll meet you there.

Hmmm, in hindsight it's pretty easy saying I'll meet you there. Ashbridges' is a pretty big area! Where were you planning on shooting?

Sorry for any confusion regarding the location. Alice and I had talked about doing sunrise in the Beach, and one of the spots we had discussed was Ashbridge's Bay. However, when I went looking for parking, Balmy Bay was the only spot I was able to find that allowed parking by 5:00am. We had some miscommunication, in that I meant to change the shooting location to somewhere near there (we ended up at the Leuty Lifeguard station), but Alice thought I meant to park at BB and go to Ashbridges.

For future reference, though, is there anywhere else in the Beach area, particularly near Ashbridges, that allows parking early enough for sunrise? I'm sure there must be somewhere, I just wasn't able to find it.

Thanks for the invitation Janet! And thanks to the folks who came out. I had a wonderful time as usual. It was windy but we got really nice sunrise :-). Looking toward to see those nice shots :-). I will post mine in a couple days.

Well it was cold and windy, but good company and a big breakfast at the Sunset Grill after made it worth while :)
