What: Sunrise
When: Sat. May 7 (tentative, depending on the official cherry blossom event)
Time: 5:00am
Where: End of Humber Bay Park Road West
Bring: Camera, tripod

I thought it would be an idea to shoot sunrise before going to the official event at High Park on Saturday. Sunrise is 6:12am, so we should start to get light about an hour before that. I don't know the parks that well, but the end of Humber Bay Park Road West looks like an easy spot to meet, with a little bit of parking, and then we can hopefully find the ideal spot from there.

Afterwards, we could head over to High Park for the official event at 8:00 am, and perhaps do a little bit of shooting in the park before the others arrive.

The date for this is tentative, depending on the official cherry blossom event.

aw... Saturday morning is not good for me . Sunday would be good.

The parking lot on the east side of the bridge had signs saying no parking between 12:01am and 5:59am. However there appeared to be street parking ob the west side - 2 hour limit, but no limit on the time of day.

Where would you suggest we park Janet? The one across the street?

It looks like we can park on the street on the west side of the bridge (Marine Parkade Drive). I never noticed a parking lot across the street though - where is it?

Please keep an eye on the thread for the Cherry Blossom event, since the blossoms don't appear to be cooperating. If the cherry blossom event gets rescheduled, then this one will be rescheduled to match.

Ok, cherry blossoms moved another weekend.

I changed the time to 5:00am since sunrise is earlier next week.

Having changed the date, how would people feel about changing the location to the same one as last year - the end of Humber Bay Park Road West? I had avoided that spot for April 30, since the yacht clubs put their boats in the water that weekend, and I didn't want to knowingly fill up their parking that morning. That won't be an issue next weekend, and I think that there will be more parking there than at the bridge, and it was a nice spot to shoot sunrise last year.

I like the Humber Bay Park best as parking is easier and the sun comes
up through the downtown area.

If no one objects by tomorrow evening, I'm going to switch the location to Humber Bay Park.

I'm fine with what ever you decide Janet, as I've never been to either.

I just changed the meeting location to the end of Humber Bay Park Road West.

Janet, this address 300 Humber Bay Park Rd W in google map belongs to Etobicoke Yacht Club according to Google. Can we park there for sure?

yup... last years sunrise event was also held in there... would miss this one as I have a work on saturday..

Yes, there is a public lot at the end of the road. Last year, we were there the same weekend that the yacht club put the boats in the watetr, so although we were parked legally, I didn't want to do that again (last weekend).
