Details:

What: Photowalk or photoshoot (open to suggestions) for large format camera users, and then back to my condo to do some developing.
When: Sunday May 01, 2011
Time: 10am
Where: Don Valley Brickworks.
Bring: What you think you'll need to shoot your gear. :) Cost for developing, see below.

I think the small format shooters have enough events, so it is time for us large format people (4x5 and up) to bring the toys out to play. Those who aren't large format shooters, but want to come along and see these fun cameras in action are welcome as well. I was thinking it might be nice to do a photowalk style event along the waterfront, but I'm open to suggestions. An alternative might be the Don Valley Brickworks, which has something for nature shooters and industrial decay shooters (like me).

After a few hours of shooting or so, we could then come back to my condo at Church and Dundas to play with some chemicals. I can develop B&W, C-41 and E-6. I can do 6 sheets at a time with my gear (4x5 only). We won't have time to develop everything everyone shoots I imagine, but we can get at least a few done from everyone. I'm going to say $10 each if you want to have a couple developed, but free if you just want to watch to the process. Pizza and drinks are extra if we want to do that. :-)

I'm going to limit the number of slots to 6 people so we aren't developing for too long afterwards, but this is just for development. If you want to go, but aren't going to be developing afterwards, RSVP accordingly.

None of the above is set in stone, so we can figure it out as we go if there are other good suggestions.

Yup. No guarantees it will turn out well. Strictly experimental.

I am signed up - but I may end up being a maybe - if they open the roads early again in Haliburton Forest, then I'll be off to the trailer for the weekend. I won't know until a week away.

The date can be changed, if there is more interest for another date.

I would vote for non-Sunday (or non-Friday).

I'm still missing a few items to get my gear working. I'll be joining you guys when I have everything down. I'm interested in architectural shots early morning or late afternoon for that special light, old buildings in Toronto and portraits with flash.

If I can join you for the developing, I'll throw in a box of latex gloves for darkroom work if you need it. I have a JOBO someone gave me years ago and I just got a backup unit should it fail. Still missing tanks and everything that goes in it.

I have a Jobo for developing. I don't have a darkroom, though, so no printing. Developing is all daylight tanks.

Just found out that Haliburton Forest won't be opening until May 13th, so I am good to go for this event.

I vote for going to the brickworks as suggested. I haven't been there since they started construction.

If you have any old electronics that you want to recycle, there's a free drop off tomorrow at the Brickworks.

Cheers,
