What: McLean's Auto Wreckers

Bring: $5 for the owners

This is a great spot to take pictures of old rusty cars. The owners are really nice and since I didn't want to ruin it for other photographers who may be interested in going there, I'm restricting the sign up to 10 people (I have 5 friends who i'm reserving space for).

First, thanks for setting up this event. Waiting list is probably too long for me to go.

Would you mind PMing me with the contact info so i can ask for permission, etc. from the owner? Maybe I'll set up a separate shoot after you guys go where i'll plan out a fashion shoot with the cars and a model or two.

I am not able to make it to the event - I have confirmed with Janetliz that the spot is hers and she is going to take it. I'm removing my name and hopefully no ones signs up but her in my place!!!! We won't be online at the same time and hopefully it doesn't cause an issue in switching places.

Gee. The waiting list too long.
A couple of input though:
1. I suggest everyone should wear long boot
2. I think most junk yard will allow you to wander to get the parts you may need. Taking images for purpose of probable purchase should normally be ok.

Hello
I spoke with Mr. McLean today, and confirmed that there will be 16 of us going. The weather looks to be ok - sunny with cloudy periods. The cars are covered with snow (of course) but it will possibly melt by then.

Just a couple of things:

- The McLeans would appreciate copies of the photos - they keep an album of photos that photographers have taken over the years. They don't have email, so they would prefer that we mail them. To make things easier, please email your chosen photo to me; I'll print them and send them off to the McLeans.

- Mr. McLean advised that people should not park on the grass due to the dampness of the ground. There was ample parking if I remember correctly, so I think we should be ok (considering that many of us will be carpooling),

-Daniel brought up a good point: Wear Boots. Also wear warm clothing as it is a big space and you will be outside the entire time.

Tim will be sending everyone the correct directions to the McLean's. Apparently Google Maps does not do a very good job.

How long will we be there? Thinking of bringing lunch and a thermos for tea.

Or will we go for lunch afterward? If we are, then I won't bring as much...

I guess no Thornhill Camera show for the attendees then... just noticed.

I was thinking of places to go for lunch. There isn't too much around there to be honest, but I'm sure we could find somewhere. I'll look into it.

I figured about 2-2.5 hours of shooting, then lunch (and a quick getaway to the Thornhill show for those who are interested - it usually ends around 3pm.

will we be allowed to stick there as long as we want or is the owner limiting our time there?

I'm inclined to bring a snack and work through lunch. I doubt I'll get finished in two hours (I'm slow).

In Milton? There's piles to eat.
