Why: To share some of our photos and maybe discuss composition?

The photos can either be on a screen or in printed form. Please do not bring a lot of photos, this is not about volume. The idea is to get together in a peer group and discuss composition. So much the better if we can manage not to talk about equipment or post processing.

Please let me know if you can bring a laptop or tablet with a good screen and you are willing to load and display some images from other participants through your USB port.

Optional: Beer and/or food afterwards at a local Cabbagetown pub

I'd love to come and bring some on a usb key. Don't feel like dragging 24'' canvas on TTC

Like to go but I can't do Thursdays.

If we do another one it will be a different day and time.

Thursday would usually work, but i already have plans for this one. Will watch for this and join next time.

Wed. would have been better, oh well next time.

so, have you found a laptop yet? i can bring mine, a shitty 13-incher, but for three guys navigating through tea and cookies on a two-foot table it should be more than enough--especially as we're talking composition

I was hoping for maybe another few participants so lets wait and see.

I don't care if I even show mine, I'd like to join in to discuss it regardless.

do we get to show one of ours for every frame of your mp4?

I have a Mac. An MP4 should work. As long as it's not a .wav or .avi file should be fine.

As many as you want as long as it doesn't take any longer

Sorry I have to bail out. I wont be able to leave work early today. I'll try to make it next time.

I'm going to keep my eye out for the next time this comes 'round. I'd love to come out to this but have previous plans for after work.

I will bring one each of landscape, bird, architecture and abstract shots for discussing the principles of composition in each case. You could all help me better understand these and get tips on how to improve.

Sure sound good, but I hope you are not thinking this is some type of rule of thirds tutorial.
