Details:

What: Lang Pioneer Village -- Christmas By Candlelight -- 5:00pm
When: Saturday, December 4th, 2010
Time: 5:00PM to 9:00pm
Where:Lang Pioneer Village Parking Lot near the main entrance
[b]Bring: Camera, Lenses, Tripod for long exposures, $10.00 admission fee, & Holiday Cheer.


What better way to start off the Christmas Holidays than with a Traditional Pioneer Christmas. There will horse and wagon rides, carolers, demonstrations, festive foods and a visit from Father Christmas, and of course candlelit buildings.

Admission is $10.00 for adults.

Ontario Attractions has a $2.00 off coupon that expires on Dec. 5/10 -- Print one off or visit a hotel/motel and pick up a magazine.

Car Pooling Can be arranged --
I can meet people in Scarborough at either the Kennedy Subway or Guildwood Go Station. Room for 5 more passengers in my minivan.
Please list in the thread if you can take passengers and where abouts you are located.


Note: there is an event to Mills led by David / LXDESIGN that will be combined and happen prior to this event and will meet at Tim Horton's

Would anyone be interested in a pre-shoot before hitting Lang? I was thinking of meeting up around noon, and hitting a bunch of mills in the Durham and Port Hope area's.

That sounds like a great idea David, then we can make a whole day of it.

So we could do a quick lunch along the way and a dinner -- which might be more relaxing
OR
A late lunch / early dinner between the events -- which allows people to warm up &/or refuel

What would people prefer?

Everyone is welcome to participate in both or just join in one or the other.

The buildings will be lit by candlelight. -- (likely some type of oil lanterns possibly too from back in that time period)

Checkout the website under the photo album there is one image of a summer/August candlelight event showing one of the buildings lit up.

You will want a tripod for longer exposures or boost your ISO to a level for low light shooting.

So are we going to change the time then Maureen? to 12pm meetup - with a Durham / Port Hope mill tour before hand, and then meet the rest of the folks for 5pm at Lang Pioneer Village?

Hi Andrea, yes you can get a ride. I can meet you at a subway -- it is now changed to Victoria Park Subway outside at the front doors for 11:00am

Since I will have to work a little bit this weekend ( :cry: ), I'm wondering if we have a meeting point/time at Lang?
