Details:

What: Halloween on Church Street
When: Sun. Oct 31, 2010
Time: 7 PM
Where: Starbucks at Yonge and Wellesley
Bring: Camera, flash, costume if you wish and warm clothes

This is Toronto's largest Halloween block party. Come on out and enjoy all the weird and wonderful people that make this party great. Costume is optional but a lot more fun :)

The meet up is at the northwest corner of Yonge and Wellesly by the Starbucks and then it is a short walk to Church Street which will be blocked off to for pedestrian traffic only.

The party runs from 6 pm to about 3 am for those of you who don't have work or school the next day. By about 9 pm it gets very crowded.

My only gripe is that it's a Sunday night, and I have to work the next day.

@ Chris - you don't have to stay till 3 am :)
and if you do, you are still young and should make it to work no problem.

@ Jordan - sorry about your loss :(
but put on a costume, grab a cheap disposable camera and come out for the fun of it :)

@ everyone else - just tried on my costume and I have to admit --
I looked "Spooktacular" :)

Does that mean that we'll be finally seeing a new mug shot of you in your avatar?

Look forward to meeting you. If you have never been to Halloween on Church before all I can say is "Enjoy!!"
Costumes are optional but so much more fun. And the folks down there are always willing to pose.

Got my costume! Looking forward to seeing everyone! I hope I can spot you Tim, I imagine you can fit a couple of sweaters under your costume because you're dressing up as some furry animal!

Now I just need to figure out how to keep warm, I think I'll need a couple of those heat pads in my shoes & gloves!

Question: How do you carry an SLR when one is in a costume? Camera bags don't seem to mix with costume.

No camera bag for me, just one lens and a flash. Usually just take my point and shoot but will take the dslr this year to try out my new flash :)

When I steal candy, I take the bag too :)
Look forward to saying Hi. Long time since we talked.
Although we may not recognize each other.

I will be easy to identify - just look for the guy with the camera...

I'll come later. Since I know some of you, so I'll look around for you, and the orange tags.

I'm going to give my old Kodak "pre-point and shoot" camera a try. Their (I believe) 2nd digital camera the DC3200 in all of it's 1MP of glory.

I need to drop my brother off at the airport at around 5pm. Anyone want to meet for a quick dinner ahead of time, say at 6?

My brother is flying to australia for a month long vacation.

Thanks to Tim for herding us to at least get to the area! Kudos to Tim and Pam for actually putting on full costumes...

Was a little disappointed in the costumes / creativity this year... usually a lot more of both.

Hope folks got some decent shots and had fun, at least!

We took a dinner break at 8:30 at the fox and fiddle. After dinner the crowds and costumes were better. Thanks Tim for organizing.
