What: Shooting The Sun or The Long Shadow
When: Oct 15 (weather permitting)
Time: 5 pm for 5:15pm sharp start
Where: Starbucks located at Yonge and King

This time of year the sunset is almost aligned with the east west roads, making it an ideal time to capture long shadows in the downtown streets.

Both timing and the sun is critical to the event so don't wait for spring.

No special equipment is needed, this was taken with my small P&S

Weather still looks good for tomorrow

If anyone is not sure about shooting almost directly into the sun and want some tips introduce yourself at Starbucks.

I want to come but I only get off work at Richmond Hill at 4pm. I'll probably join you guys later, around 6pm if you guys are still around.

i wonder if i would get some long shadows of the smelly feet or garbage cans

Whaddaya know I've got my camera at work. But not my polarizer.. oh well.

No polarizer for me glare is my friend

thanks for setting this up. i had great fun shooting and getting lost next time...i'll bring along a map and ask for directions first before i take off

I came out pretty late as the afternoon sky had turned cloudy so I had assumed that the sunset would not be good. By the time I looked out to see sunlight, I was too late to join you guys. Oh well, I did take some pictures anyway:

Thanks Ryan for organizing this. Gave me the chance to figure out my Canon 40D I picked up the night before Just moved from using a Sony to a Canon.
