What, When: Read The Title

Where: Jumping off point at the Distillery District, precise meeting place TBA.
From there we walk south down Cherry St. with a bit of zig zag. This area of Toronto is interesting because it contains a shipping port, film studios, industrial areas and a beach. Towards sunset we should be nicely lined up with the city skyline.

Bring: It's meant to be hot and sunny but remember near the water it could be cooler so bring a jacket. And of course extra film.

This would have been a great excuse for me to dig out my father's Canon 10QD (http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/came ... =1986-1990) but I got Ikebana (Japanese floral arrangement) class on Wednesday night. Sigh...

I might join you guys, but I will be a bit later.... as I have an event that doesn't end until 6:30pm.

PM me if you want my cell so you can find out where we are at the time. The 72a or 72b bus will take you as far as Cherry and Commissioners.

Good to see you guys tonight.... I am thinking of organizing another film walk - for medium format for sometime this weekend - who's off on Monday?

Thanks for organizing, Ryan. And thanks, Dave, for suggesting the place to go afterwards. Two of us strolled down there afterwards and got a few nice shots of the Gardiner.

cool -- it is a nice spot isn't it! Turns out that there was a massive gas leak in the Comissioner / Leslie street area -- and the police had the area shut down. So I ducked down to Unwin .... mistake! More police that you could shake a stick at. But funny enough -- I did end up being able to get up Leslie street -- but man did it ever stank... of natural gas. yikes.

I heard on the radio that they were taking a suspected explosive out to the spit to detonate it! We saw a slew of cop cars fly by in the distance.

Ok.. the really scary thing - is that I watched them drive by with those f'n xplosives in a truck as I approached Leslie street off of Unwin. If I had known that --- I wouldn't have gone anywhere near it. After the social - I went down the don roadway and was going to go east along Commissioner - but there were cops there, and he told me that there was nothing going on - just "something they had to deal with"..... uh huh. And I suggested going west and then another route, and he let me go. But thinking it was a fire or hazard spill on commissioner - I went down to Unwin, not knowing they were transporting C4 or whatever. Yikes.

Anyhow -- on a different note. I figured out what was going on with my camera. Apparently in aperature or shutter priority modes - when the light gets so low that it can't even figure out what reading to give, the aperature (in A mode) or shutter in (s) mode blinks. So its normal!

oh well.... maybe it will just be a something then... I am thinking west Toronto. I'll post it up.
