Details:

What: Holiday Displays and Lights (Take Two)
When: Sun. Nov. 22, 2009
Time: 4PM
Where: Union Station, lower level by the Cinnabon
Bring: camera, tripod, warm clothes, comfortable shoes/boots

Let's try this again!

It's that time again! Christmas is coming! Holiday lights and displays are going up around us, and with the holidays approaching, I thought that it might be fun to try and capture some of that magic on our cameras.

We'll start off at Union Station, head over to BCE Place, and walk north to Yonge and Queen to check out the Bay's flagship store window display. We'll duck into the Eaton Centre to check out the huge tree, and then head north again to Yonge/Dundas Square. As we head north toward Yorkville, we'll see how cold we've gotten before stopping for a drink/bite to eat/warm-up spot.

Hope you can join me!

Some drive, some subway, some even walk to the meeting location if they are close. There's no problem if you're commuting via subway.. It's actually better for these kind of street photography events too. We usually end up walking from one location to another for about 2 to 3 hours. If you take the subway, you don't have to worry about going back to fill your meter or walking back to your car after the event.

Cinnabon is a fast food chain/restaurant.

It's in the food court of the bottom of Union Station by the GO trains. If you take the subway, you need to exit out of the TTC station (without hitting street level), go into Union Station and head toward the GO trains and the ACC. Off to the right is the Cinnabon as well as a bunch of other food places. Hope that helps!

I will try to make it tomorrow. I'm taking the GO train which will arrive a few minutes after 4pm, so I might be a little late. If you're already gone I'll call you, Sue, and catch up with all of you along the way.

No problem, Ulla! Looking like a nice afternoon/evening tomorrow!

And if anyone else needs my cell # before the event, make sure you PM me before 2pm tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks to all who joined me tonight -- a lot of new faces and more names to learn! (Please forgive me if I don't remember them all....) I think we really lucked out with the weather too. :)

Hope you guys got some good shots, and I'm looking forward to seeing them. I'm hoping for at least one keeper to use on my holiday cards this year. :D
