Thinking about going to an event this weekend? On November 7 & 8 Harbourfront Centre on Queens Quay has the Mexican Day of the Dead festival. It's colourful and lively. Last year there were many photo opps. Here's the link:

I went, it was pretty fun if you're interested in mexican music and women who are elegantly dressed as if they're dead (no blood gory though).

There's also food and quite the crowd, mainly the family crowd. It was a fantastic overall atmosphere with emphasis on a heart-warming festive celebration of The Day of Dead, the annual Mexican 1 week celebration.

You must catch the Mariachi band in the theatre!

PS I didn't get too many good shots though, not equipped to do indoor shooting.

yes, I went to this festival. I enjoyed it. I love learning about different cultures the way Harbourfront Centre does it. It's a multi-sensory extravaganza. Something for your eyes, ears, nose and taste buds. I really enjoyed the impromptu dancing by these women who just jumped on stage and started dancing to the Mariachi band. I also like the displays of catrinas and skulls.

A little boring and small, too bad there was no outside. Gotta go to Mexico, I guess.

It was a small event, not too many photo opportunities in my opinion, but I honestly went for the event itself.

For moments during the Mariachi Fuego concert, I felt as if I was in Mexico. They had a great sound system and the audience was quite responsive, so much so, a few of them were dancing on stage! And to the side as well...

Anyhoo, here's my set, I apologize for not having a better system to capture these moments.
