Thanks David for organizing. It was a great night.

I saw the clip on The Weather Network of the group shooting. As I thought he was shooting me, and then he panned around.

I didn't have the greatest night:

- had to work a little late, so had to rush downtown to get there
- was hoping to get some Photo-Flo from Henry's, but they were closed :(
- was still late, and then had a hard time finding the group
- didn't end up being very inspired most of the evening. Maybe it was just being distracted from carrying two bodies and a stick that can't stand up on its own
- forgot to set the ISO on the second roll of film. No wonder the shutter speeds were getting long. Shot a third of the roll before I realised what was wrong
- Dinner was.... actually dinner was fine :)
- 20minute drive home took an hour -- accident on DVP. A "might as well turn off the engine" level of stoppage

Not that it was all bad. After I got settled down to shoot I did enjoy myself.

Thanks for organising Dave :)

The ultimate highlight was getting that pocket full of change....

Hi guys, after talking to one of you, when you were at the old city hall taking some photos. now I am the newest member of this group.

I was taking photos that night too, but of the new city hall.

Was my first time out and I really had a good time. Weather held up for the most part so that's cool. And its good to know I may have been on TV.

My shots were disappointing, but that's really because I didn't take my time and play with settings.

I look forward to doing another one. Anyone going to Church on Halloween, I may see you there if only for a few hours (I have to work that night).

Dave thanks for Organizing. Good to meet those that attended.

It was a good night out. Even though I was the only 4/3s user. Thanks for organizing it. :)

I'm sure no one is interested in these:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ofermod/4056796671/" title="Churchill at City Hall by ofermod, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2454/4056796671_2e079b1d8e.jpg" width="334" height="500" alt="Churchill at City Hall"></a>
Nikon D80, 50mm @800ISO

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ofermod/4057762256/" title="Sir Winston by ofermod, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2523/4057762256_479b2d09d5.jpg" width="333" height="500" alt="Sir Winston"></a>
Nikon F80, 28mm @400ISO pushed 2 stops (excuse the dust)

The digital didn't turn out quite as well, most likely because it was taken a whole stop slower. Overall, I think that the F80 just meters better.

There's still a roll in the camera, so I should have a couple more in the set next week:

Was that a spotlight at the top of the building producing the flaring?

Spotlight: Yes.
Lens flare: erm... the lens

That would have been with the (cheap!) 50mm f/1.8.

+1 on the OC. How fast do you need to run if you do this with a prime lens?
