Details:

What: Fall Colours Drive
When: Sun. Oct 11, 2009
Time: 12PM
Where: initial meetup point at Tim Hortons, 100 Fifth Avenue, Orangeville (closest Timmies to Kelsey's, Montana's, etc.)
Bring: camera, comfortable walking shoes

So here is the plan so far:

Meet at Tim Hortons in Orangeville and head north toward Kimberley, Ontario. This would take us past a few interesting spots along the way: a couple of lookout spots near Mono Cliffs, the windmill farms north of Shelburne, two waterfalls near Flesherton (Hoggs Falls and Eugenia Falls) and then head north to Old Baldy Lookout. We were there two years ago and took some interesting shots. We can head to either Owen Sound or back to Orangeville for some dinner depending on timing and where we are.

It's a rough plan at this point since we don't know what the colours will be like on that weekend, or if the weather will cooperate. There is a plan B for spots further south in the works if the colours have already come and gone at that more northern location....

Feel free to make car pooling plans through this thread. :)

I came to Canada on Oct 13th and I landed right in Orangeville. We have a beautiful Fall in Poland but I was really taken by what I saw in Orangeville back in October of 1991 on the First St. Mature trees around old homes. Perfect setting for a photo session. I think you want to go at least one week later, though. Keep us updated on the progress of this trip. If I don't have my boy over, I'd be game for this one.

Since I'm coming from Brampton, I can really only offer to rides to people in Brampton. Hopefully there will be other who sign up who are able to offer rides from Toronto.

As for going one week later, for me it's a no-can-do. I'll be in Buffalo for Doors Open Niagara the following weekend....

Might go. But can't commit yet. If going, can offer rides from Fairview Mall.

That's Thanksgiving weekend right? I probably can't make it because there's some family coming down from Northern ON... can't exactly be grabbing my camera and taking off for the day :(

Have a great time, looking forward to seeing the photos!

Yes, that is Thanksgiving weekend. I realize that some people may not be available to go then, but that's when I'm free to go. If others want to set up an Ad-Hoc event for another date, feel free! :)

I'm thinking of doing an ad-hoc on another day for those that can't make this one... unfortunately I'm out of town all Thanksgiving Weekend, and I'm out doing another fall colours trip on Sunday.

I'm interested and would need a ride, but before I confirm I'll have to check if I'm free.

I could offer a ride from downtown west (Queen & Spadina area) in my humble Honda Civic Hatchback.

Or if someone is driving from downtown and has nicer wheels I could take a ride and would gladly contribute for gas.

Hello,

This will be my first TPMG event. I live right by Hwy 400 and Finch Ave. I can take 3 people in my car if they meet me at Tim Hortons at the Jane and Finch Mall

PS It is not dangerous during the day, a little scary at night though, if you're walking alone :S

Hi All,

Like the poster above me, I'm new as well. I've been wanting to come out with the group for awhile but just haven't been able to make the scheduled events. Since my Thanksgiving plans seem to have now changed, looks like I can make it.

I'm in Thornhill and will be driving. I may be able to take 2 others.

Jordan, your name looks familiar. Do you have a brother by the name of Ryan by any chance?

How tough is tough? Since I'd like to hit a few different places along the way, I'd rather not spend too much time hiking to any one place. I'd also rather keep the route easy to walk since I know some of the people going on this trip would have difficulty with tougher trails.
