When: Sunday, Oct. 4th, 2009
Time: 10am - 2pm

This will be a back to basics (BtB) workshop that will give us the chance to work with light a little more in depth. It will be a prior to the strobist affair 2.0, and it will not include models. We will work and learn with each other on techniques, lighting styles, exposures, etc.

I suggest High Park, as its close to the Subway line and its got great views.

Also, it public property so no interference from "loud Drunk girls" or security.

Would love to join this session guys...plenty of error with the last strobist pic that I did (angle/lightings/shadows, etc) and would benefit from watching the more experience folks :)

you know what they say about early birds...

(speaking of which, you know what they say about the second worm, right - "the second worm gets to live")

why would you limit it to few people? Clearly a lot can be learned just by standing at the side and watching  open up more slots, additionally, the park is huge :D

Well, I was thinking to have a smaller more concentrated group as last time we had 20 ppl come out and it was hard to focus on a few topics.

The second strobist event is more the type with larger group involvement.

woah. You know, recent research has shown a link between people who sleep late at night and their creative output; a strong positive correlation.

That's because with lack of sleep you are in a constant state of haze which is condusive to creativity. It's like you are on drugs all the time. :D

you are if you're drinking coffee or tea, or smoke tobacco, or whatever, just not "oficially" considered a drug, but it is. it's debatable of course, but the truth is debatable too. Many creative artists use drugs, all different sorts of  not encouraging you though. Very few can actually control the use, you can read something about shamans of the world etc, well, we're getting off topic

The only problem I see with High Park at 6 pm would be that it would only give 1hr and a bit of ambient light to work with .. then you are in the dark.

we could crash the photo meet and set up our corner to play with our gear. who knows, maybe we can get them interested too.

Then we can have a large dinner outing.

sound good?

I really hope my gear comes by then.

For a location how about the Music Garden down by Harbourfront? Should be ambient light after sunset.

I'm only a waiting list person, but I would love to do this next Wednesday and I like the idea of the Music Garden.

Still waiting for my RF-602 and 3 receivers from HK so Wednesday wouldn't work for me but if it works for everyone I'll come out.
