Details:

What: U2 ELEVATION "Tribute Band"
When: Saturday, September 19th, 2009
Time: 10PM (showtime at 11PM)
Where: The Hideout, 484 Queen St. West, Toronto, 647-438-7664
Bring: Camera + Flash, no tripods or other obstructions.

ELEVATION is a U2 Tribute Band that really is a tribute. They have the look, the costumes, the mannerisms, and most importantly, the sound of U2. This group travels around the world performing. I've seen them perform at Healey's a few years ago and they have a very loyal fan following.

I spoke to an operator of The Hideout who said they have no photo policy except "don't get in the way of the band or piss off the fans". I also got in touch with a member of the band and he doesn't have a problem with us attending.

I realize I posted two shows back to back but the musical genres are drastically different and might draw a different group of tpmg'ers.

Saw this band at Gretzky's last year. Not bad, they do a bang up job on the U2 covers. Plus they try to dress the part.

Hmmm....might head out with my camera.

I would go if I wasn't already shooting for another club concert. :(
Since you're already in communication with the band and promoter, you should see if they'll cover a couple drinks or pay you in exchange for a couple photos for their site to help promote yourself and them.

It turns out spending 5 days in New York City with 15 hours of sleep has it's consequences. I have a fairly bad cough and cold right now and won't be well enough by the weekend to attend the concert events over the weekend.

I hate to bail on this event but I hope that some of you will still attend. I'm not marking this event as cancelled because two people are still listed as attending.

FYI - U2 ELEVATION will be playing in the Toronto area again before the end of the year.

I have a birthday party in Scarborough that daytime.. hopefully I'll make it by 10pm

Do we have any meeting plans yet?
