ugh rain again? i was thinking of stopping by on sat after the expo but i guess not too bad i can't make it today.

I should be getting there at about 6:30 and I could meetup then.

I was there today, just came back, as always I had a great time watching the performers. Alakazam is back again this year, Piano Juggler was interesting as well. I'll try to post pics later.

I was there today with wife and kid. Saw a couple of TPMGers.

Thing that gets me worked up during these large events are the hordes of people already there blocking my view (I'm not that short), and worse, they start to bring out their iphones to take pictures...

Or how about the guys using the Fong tupperware diffuser _outdoors_ at a subject about 10 feet away? I've read how some wedding photographers who have voice activated lightstands and use wireless ETTL have their diffusers apparently pointed skyward. The on-camera master does not fire for exposure but for signalling only - the diffuser works really well in making sure the signal gets sent everywhere. But for single on camera flash, what else would the tupperware do but waste light and suck battery?

Ok, rant over. Here's a picture; for those going down, I recommend getting set up early for this guy's performance - he's able to 'jump' through the world's smallest hoops - a squash and tennis racket, and a toilet seat. Here he is with the racket around his waist:

there is outdoor application for the gary fong...such as fill, to get rid of shadows cast by the sun or at least lessen them

the dvd in the box gives some pointers on when and where to use the 'tupperware'

i don't know about pointing it straight up outdoors though...

I went to Busker Fest fest last night and shot some photos. My poor XSi was not having fun trying to take shots of the performers in motion in the low/night light at ISO 1600 but a few turned out ok.

Went at lunch today, got some good shots of fire-eating. Might go back after work depending on the weather.

Went down yesterday......Pretty nice......I think there are more stages this year than last.....Like the idea of raised stages, specially for shooters.
