The Fan Expo is being held at the Metro Toronto Convention centre next weekend from aug 29-31. I think the event is like a Sci-fi + Comic convention for the most part. I assume there will be a lot of people dressed up that would make up for some good photo ops, along with random celebrities here and there.

The tickets start at 25$ ish, if you opt for the more expensive pass I think you get access to more venues.

I personally want to go since Bruce Campbell will be there as one of many celebrity guests. He's having a session around noon so I think I'll head out in the morning and see what the lineups will be like during his autograph session.

ya saw this advertised, and a bunch of Sci-fi celebs will be there

unfortunately I have to work but I would love to go and take pics of all the costumes

just to clarify - are you planning on going sat aug 29th or sunday aug 30th?

I am going all three days. Lots of opportunities I would think. This Con is the big one; horror, anime,sci-fi, comic books and gaming all in the same place. Geek Heaven. Lots of costumes, and the guests are accessible.

Couple of things Madelica, you have it titled as Fax Expo and Saturday is August 29th not 30th. The show starts Friday and runs to Sunday.

if you want to go for free and get some money at the show. there is a posting on craigslist (events link) to work half a day at the event.

I'll be doing that. I don't like paying to get into events. lol

i tried to find you but wayyyyyyy to many people and booths!

I'll be there again today at the t-shirt booth. I'll be wearing a white t-shirt with marvel comic characters on it. I swear that it is one of the busiest booths. I was on the outside.

I'll be at the booth from 3:30 - 7:00pm. I'll be there earlier, but just like yesterday, I think most of the best photo opportunities are after the show ends as everyone goes outside and the scenery is so much better than a bunch of backgrounds of ugly booths and people wandering by.
