Details:

What: Backus Heritage Village & Conservation Area - Port Rowan
When: Sat. July 04, 2009
Time: 11:00AM - 4:30PM Plus Dinner
Where: Backus Heritage Village & Conservation Parking Lot
Bring: Camera(s), tripod, monopod, hiking or good walking shoes/boots, LUNCH and snacks, admission fee $12.00 per vehicle which include occupants

A Hertiage Village (pioneer village) with a list of 31 items to see and explore with such things as 4 Mills, church, homestead, barns, carriages, etc. There are also trails in the conservation area. The Flood Plain Trail is 3km from the Mill and mill pond following Dedrick Creek.

It is a around 2 3/4 hours to get there so leave my place at 8:00am or so depending upon passengers or pick-ups

Pam and Yesh meet you both at Union Station for 8:15 am on Front St. Exit the east end doors due to construction down there.

Backus mill was definately the highlight of the day for me! I might get business out of that trip... woohoo!

Thanks everyone for coming out. It was an absolutely fabulous day.

I have to agree with David that the Backhouse Mill was the best for this day followed by the Backus homestead and then the original light of Long Point Lighthouse in their museum.

Yes the weather was nice. The blue sky with a few puffy clouds added to the shots especially with using the polarizer.

Definately an other trip back here again for the future, maybe in the fall for the fall colors.
