What is microstock photography? I had no idea until now. I post this to save time for any other people who, like me, are ignorant of this fact.

from Wikipedia:
"Microstock photography, also known as micropayment photography, is an offshoot of traditional stock photography. What defines a company as a microstock photography company is that they (1) source their images almost exclusively via the Internet, (2) do so from a wider range of photographers than the traditional stock agencies (including a willingness to accept images from "amateurs" and hobbyists), and (3) sell their images at a very low rate (anywhere from $.20 - $10) for a royalty-free image.

A number of microstock sites also sell vector art, and some sell Flash animations and video, as well as images.[1]

Microstock examples: iStockphoto and stockxchange "

Read the forums to learn about reasons for rejections. Be careful, because your acceptance ratio will dictate how many pictures you are allowed to upload in a day.
What is acceptance ratio?
You will find out on June 23.

yeah, I know I am not a "business" photographer...yet. I am more into art using photography as tool, but I need to learn and evolve

Hi Everyone,

During my lecture I will use some terms that might be new to some of you, like: keywording, camera metadata, model and property release, noise (digital), IPTC, etc.
I am still working on the glossary and I hope to have it completed by mid next week, ahead of the lecture.
If you want to have that list in advance, please PM me your e-mail address.
I will use the e-mail addresses after the presentation to send you the
33 % coupons discount codes for the PRO license of ProStockMaster should you decide to buy it, and I will also be grateful if you send me your feed-back the same way.
Please be assured that no spam will land in your inbox from my computer, unless some virus breaches my antivirus software.

Thanks,
Sorin (So)

Will be a fun night. The flickr social is the same night, a few blocks away at the Caddy.

Decisions on whether to go to one or the other, or go to both?

Did I mention English is only my first language?

PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT APPRECIATE PEOPLE MAKING FUN OF MENTAL ILNESSES HERE AT TPMG WHEN I AM HOSTING EVENTS AT CAMH.

Thank you.

I sincerely apologise to anyone who misconstrued my post as 'making fun of' those with mental illnesses. That was never my intention.
Anyone who knows me, would know that was the last thing I intended.

Now I wish I had asked earlier about parking.
The web site is talking about redeveloping going on and that some parking lots will be affected.

I think the parking lot behind the centre (accessible off Shaw, south of Queen) is still open. Also, there is always some street parking available on Shaw.

tons of parking here for after hours -- only access is the west side right now. the closed off the east entrance yesterday for the preparation and building of "Workman Way", which is our new street.

Many thanks to Sorin (and Ixdesign).
I found it very interesting.

I don't think it would be the same if it were recorded and presented online.
If there is another one I would recommend it.

Unfortunately, some of us have to work. Considering I work past 7 regularly, there's no way I can ever go down to CAMH.

Which I guess I will miss every presentation. =/

Was just suggesting an alternative solution. After all, this is the digital age.

Just a suggestion. I know each pressentation is copyrighted by the presenter after all. If I learned nothing else in University, I learned how touchy some profs are about their lectures. =P
