Any chance the drowning at Cherry Beach and ongoing search will be a problem for the event? I don't see any updated news anywhere that the victim has been found.

Indications in the news is that the beach has remained open.

I don't think so... I was there last night on a ride, and it didn't look like there was signs of an investigation.

they seem to call off the search about 5:30pm everyday, so we're in the clear

680news said the search will resume this morning around 9:00 and I hope they find the victim by then. Poor soul ... RIP ... whoever he was.

ok everyone, please make sure you are hydrated and have water, cause its HOT outside. You'll be on sand, so I will be watching you all for dehydration. I will have a case of water but I may not have enough for like 2-3 bottles each.

Take any precautions you can!

See you tonight!

to those taking the DVP Richmond exit, slow down to 50 as soon as you get onto the ramp and keep your foot on the brake to maintain 50.

It was good to meet everyone tonight and to see some of you again.
Thanks Justin for putting this together and I can't wait to get out for another of these awesome events.
The models were awesome to work with and the knowledge shared fantastic as always.
Maybe next time I'll get a few more successful strobe shots!

many thanks to Justin for organizing the event in this less than desired weather condition.

one of my many secret admirers left a Canon lens in my bag this evening. I do appreciate the thought but I wouldnt know what to do with a Canon lens as I am a Nikon user. :)

Hah ah! Jason was a big help, he's Taiyungjai on here ;)

heh heh Simon you're jokes :) and I'd buy it off you, then charge you more on the next workshop ;) heh hehe

Kam, no worries, I'm sure I will see you soon, and hit me next time. If I deposit it into my paypal, it will never leave my paypal and end up buying something on eBay that I didn't really need

Glad everyone enjoyed it!

I had to do one before bed.
Thanks to the wonderful advice I think I got a pretty good ratio of good to crap on this wonderful evening.
Thanks again Justin!
and yes, I realize that I broke rule 1 about shooting these, the horizontal line fails, but it was the first picture I got to last night in preview that I liked!

Thanks Justin for organizing this! I had a wonderful time and of course learn a lot from you and the people that I shoot with :-). The models are Pro and great to work with.

Richard, if you have helped me returned Justin's lens to Justin, and you still have one in your bag, then that one is mine.

and two more... because work is good to me like that :p

Turns out I got one or two nice shots with the little consistency I found in the Strobes. Makes me want to get out and play with some more strobist stuff though!

Thanks again Justin for hosting this, and I'll edit this post with the other pictures when they are done.

Thanks J for another outstanding event. Great time again. Sorry I had to leave a little early at 9:30. I looked around to say bye, but couldn't see where you were. My only disappointment is I didn't get a session with Katie.

Hope no one was caught up in the traffic mess due to the Gardiner closing.

DG

PS Looking forward to the next session in the AM.

Man what a blast Justin!

Jenny and I are trying hard to use all the great, helpful advice and tips we get from you at these workshops...hope it's evidence in the photos above that we are improving.

Thanks soooo much for hosting and mentoring.

The models were not only stunning, but some of the nicest people we have had the pleasure of meeting.

Thanks also to Charles and Alice for being great team members.

Looking forward to seeing everybody again very soon :D

Just a side note...we got home at 12:50am due to that Gardiner closure. So uncool :x

Tell Jason I want to wrestle him
