So I'll keep everyone up to date on the models but we'll have some subjects tomorrow

So update for me, I picked up used 2 x 8ft lightstands, and two umbrellas (silver, white shoot thru) and I'll bring that as well. If anyone has spare umbrella hotshoe lightstand holders, please bring em.. mine are coming from DX still

Also, for all the pics you take of the models, those photos are still yours, but to make things easier, I'll manage the contact for everyone. I will probably ask you to develop 1-3 photos you liked the best of any of the models you took and send them to me. I'll filter it to the models and make sure you get the credit for taking it.

Hey J .. I hate to be a stickler for details but can I ask a few questions?

Are you saying there will be models present tomorrow? I personally don't think it's a good idea to take pictures of ourselves - (we) photographers make the worst models ;)

Have you decided how this is going to work with those bringing equipment and those who are not? Are you not limiting the number of participants?

Is there going to be a defined rotation pattern for photographers? Time-limit per photographer or at least something semi-organized?

Sorry to ask so many questions but I think it will be more enjoyable for all if the details are worked out beforehand.

Thanks,
James

Well, you dragged it out of me

I was going to post this all tomorrow but I may as well now.

My plan was to split up the gear on the spot so that there would be at least a master/slave/slave in a group. It seems we'd have enough to go around. I was hoping 3 groups and 3 different sites.

I have models coming and there should be at least 3 showing up. For the participants that are on the "Bringing Gear" list, I was going to group them with people that haven't.

The priority will be given to those who signed up "Bringing Gear" so we can learn, practice, and "bounce" ideas off each other. The "Not bringing gear" people may have an opportunity to take pictures with the gear, but I encourage you to ask questions, participate and take some behind the scenes shots.

The plan was to have each photographer have about 20-30 mins with each model, then we'd rotate sites after all photographers have worked with the model. I may rotate models as well as we may have to incorporate a change of wardrobe here and there as well.

With our 10 main participants, I think we can easily go with this format. It will highly depend on who else is coming on the other list to get large numbers.

I'll be trying to keep track of time and attempting to manage all the sites, but I do hope to take some pics tomorrow as well. Some of the models, i've been hoping to work with sooner rather than later.

I will be bringing a model release form that I will get the models to sign, and each photographer tomorrow, I will ask you to use me as the contact for the models photos. I am not going to take credit by any means, but just as to keep track of what the model will receive.

I hope that answers things and I will add, I'm quite excited about this event. I know there will be growing pains, as this is the 1st event for me, but I hope things will work out :D

Make sure you label your equipment so there's no confusion.

Thanks to the organizer (Justin is it?) and the group I joined to watch how things where done. I picked up quite a bit tonight coming into it with zero knowledge of what a strobist is. I'll be ordering a few things tonight so I can actually participate if/when the next outing is put together.

This had to be the best TPMG outing I've been to and I didn't shoot a single frame nor did I bring a camera. From looking over the shoulders of the guys I saw some really nice shots, looking forward to seeing the pictures posted here.

Vee.

Everyone, I had a great time and I'm really glad it all worked out.

M, I want that shot for my wallpaper :D

To make things fair for all photogs, I will act as the distribution point for the models photos. I had them all sign a release form for this event and they are all aware the output is coming through me.

As a reminder, everyone, send me at least your top 10 photos, export them to 800px, longest edge, and edit them as you please. Also, please watermark your photos with your sigs. If you send me 100photos, I'm good with that too.

To let everyone know, I promised the modesl at least 5 photos for their ports, but I think I can probably promise them 3 photos per photographer. Send them to me, and I will organize what's what.

On a personal note, it was really great meeting everyone and chatting and just hanging out. I can't wait until the next event!
