OK everyone, I am going to reschedule this to the 26th. There is always a chance the forecast will change, but I can't see delaying on wishful thinking. Let's hope that the 26th is a lovely day.

I truly hope everyone can make the new date. If anyone cannot make the 26th I am really sorry. Please let the folks on the stand-by list know by PM if you have to drop out in case they can make the 26th and so they can have first refusal on your spot.

DG

I am pretty sure that date will work. I have something else that day but will work on rescheduling the other.

So all passengers have a ride still.

Seat opened up since alvin85 is not able to attend.

Closest subway is Kennedy. Then across 401 and can stop at York Mills Subway. Up the 400 to the Wildlife Center.

I would plan on eating after wards before heading home.

Hi Maureen - Can I take Alvin85's spot in your van?

If yes, what time is the meetup at Kennedy's subway stn?
Is there a parking lot close to the station?

Thanks,
Martin

Hi Daryl -
Quick questions since I have never done this before:
- You mentioned that there will be 2 groups of 5 with 3-hour session each group. Does this mean that the 2 groups will start at the same time or there's a chance that we'll have to wait for 3 hours before we start?
- For a 3-hour session, how much shots can one expect to see in general? I'm trying to figure out if I would need extra cards.
- From your experience, how many animals can be covered within 3 hours?

Thanks :) :)

Hi Martin

Question 1
Both groups are shooting at the same time. Both groups start at the same time. No waiting for the first five to finish. And both groups will get a chance at all the same animals (depending on what the group members want).

Question 2
How fast is your shutter finger? The last time I was there I filled an 8G card, most of a second 8G and most of a 4G card, and I am not a shot gunner. Bring the extra cards. Better to have and not need then to need and not have. While you are at it an extra battery is a good idea as well.

Question 3
You should expect about 5 different animals. Usually the visit has included the wolves, lynx, cougar, owls and wolverine or bobcat.

Daryl

Guys - if anyone knows a friend/relative who wants to join this event, I'm willing to give up my spot.
I'm still going if no one is taking my spot, I'll just have to leave a bit early for last minute schedule conflict.

PM me if you want. :)

Thanks.

I was beginning to think that with this storm and cold clear temperatures out to the weekend we'll be back into perfect winter weather for our trip. Alas, the storm appears to be missing north of Orillia entirely. I wonder how much snow is left up there.

OK, just checked with someone that lives in Orillia. Lot's of snow still on the ground. We should be in good shape.

I have sent an email to Dale at the MWC and asked how the snow was up there at the centre. Weather looks good.

For food afterwards we can go into Gravenhurst to the Boston Pizza at the lake. That's where we went last time and it was pretty good. But there is nothing set in stone and we can always head down to Orillia if someone knows a place.

Orillia has all of the cookie cutter type restaurants as well...

Have a great day tomorrow guys, I am going down to Hamilton tomorrow to photograph waterfalls.

I received an email back from Dale at the MWC. The snow is still around but it is packed and gone off trails and there are bare patches.

It will be a cold day as noted above so come prepared as we will be outside almost all of the three hours.

Food at the Boston Pizza at the Muskoka Wharf sounds good. It's on the wrong side of the bay for a sunset, but there may be a sunset view by a short walk over to where the Muskoka steamships dock.
