I hope everyone had a good time, got at least a few good shots, made it home safe, and that there is no real damage from today's events.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for organizing - I haven't looked to see how my iphone photos came out yet. As for damage - i'll let you know in about 2-3 days.

Thanks Chris for organizing this. Interesting trip.

My group (of 4 people) met with TPMGers at Hilton Falls, didn't pay attention to the surrounding and apparently the rest had already gone to the other destination when we're finish. Too bad we didn't have anyone's number. Haha. :)

We ended up going to Tews Falls and Webster's Falls.

Hard lesson, always ask for Chris's number, definitely needed when you're lost. :D :D :D

Anyway, the four of us had a great time, and I believe so did everyone else.

Hopefully more photos are posted.

Thank you so much for organizing this! This was our first TPMG event and it was really nice to meet all of you. First waterfalls pictures I took we're not keepers (forgot to turn on mirror lockup and turn of image stabilizer :( ).

The last waterfall was the most impressive I think, and the lighting was near perfect!

I also managed to take a few shots of the surroundings. For instance, the dam at ________ waterfalls (help me out here, don't know the region):
Image

And the Darnley Grist Mill ruins:
Image

Some living on the edge:
Image

And, of course, what a beautiful day for catching falls' colors!

Cheers!

Vincent

That is the Christie Reservoir Dam at the Darnley Cascade.

Yes! Indeed, I should have made sure everyone was able to reach somebody else in the group - or printed out an itinerary. Next time. We ended up skipping Tews and Webster's because I heard they were packed and we also weren't sure if the park admission for Hilton would work there. So instead we headed off to Albion where we finished the day.

So for future reference, basically Hilton Fall's admission can't be used in Tew's or Webster's Falls. If you park at Tew's Falls, the admission is $6 per car.

It was indeed packed. We went to the base of Webster's Falls and were able to take some shots. It's still possible to get some shots although there were so many people. We just needed to be a little more patient since usually people came in groups. So as soon as the area is a little bit clear out, fire away :).

I hope I can post some photos tonight or tomorrow morning.

Happy thanksgiving everyone.

Thank you for organizing this!
Our brave team of four, although separated from the main group, still had a great trip and took away cool pictures :)

My 2 cents:

Tews Falls and Webster Falls

I went yesterday and covered Hilton Falls, Darnley Cascade, Webster's, Tews & Sherman.

It was so frigging crowded at Webster's & Tews  Couldn't get a decent shot without people moving in & out of the frame  felt Sherman was the best. Was disappointed at Hilton Falls and the $12.50 (went with family) hurt a LOT

Wow! Quite a few stunning pictures here people!

We went back to the Hilton as well and they gave us the discount (a whooping $2.50). We then visited the other included conservation sites, including Mount Nemo, Rattlesnake Point and Mountsberg, which is also a haven for injured birds... a must if you want to test your ability to handle tele lens! I shot about 150 pictures of the birds :) Anywho, when you do the round trip with the included parks, $10 is quite cheap!

I might have had just as much fun on the trail to Hilton falls:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ofermod/5080388822/" title="Shadows and Light by ofermod, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4038/5080388822_e71430d510.jpg" width="500" height="334" alt="Shadows and Light"></a>

Or taking pictures of still water:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ofermod/5080413462/" title="Reflections by ofermod, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4127/5080413462_de518b7932.jpg" width="334" height="500" alt="Reflections"></a>

Brought in the film for processing today. Hopefully I get to pick them back up soon.

It surprised me how few people were taking shots of the woods as we walked to and from the falls. It's a very nice area and the light was great in there... Woods can end up looking very samey I guess.

Wondering how things worked out with the camera...

Read something that reminded me:

I'm not too sure about the camera - the lens appeared to be working fine - although even after 5 days there apparently was still some moisture inside the lens. The camera showed some possible signs of life last friday. But I decided to let the experts at Nikon look both them over. So right now i'm just waiting for Nikon to give me a repair estimate on both the camera and lens. They told me it would take 5 business days - so that means I should hear something from them this friday! Fingers crossed its only minor repairs!

Hey everyone,

Just thought I would update you, the camera and lens were deemed by Nikon to both be complete write-offs. :-(

Ouch. You might take the cake in the most expensive bill from a TPMG trip ever. Mine was three bent knock-off rims coming back from Torrance Barrens three years ago.

Eek, for those of us who didn't make it, what happened?

Hope you folks won't mind me posting a few shots that I took following roughly the same route. Wife and I were unfortunately not able to join everyone the weekend you went so we went the weekend after.

Webster's Falls:

Felker's Falls (Yes, we hiked to the base):
