I have been to numerous Strobist type events in the past and people end up sharing their triggers and gear typically. Based on the setup time of each shoot it is often a more practical approach to get into smaller sub-groups and share a light setup which may include stands/triggers/flashes/umbrella's,etc...

I have more than one trigger wireless/optical trigger and would be willing to share.

Are you also going to be bringing some AB strobes and portable power? I think we can assume the site has no access to plug-in power.

Just as a small reminder, to everyone bringing gear, please label with scotch tape and a piece of paper with your name on it.

We'll all remember and stay close to our gear, but just to be on the safe side, make sure your own equipment is easily identifiable as yours.


Status update: looks like 2 models will be making it out to the event now

There should be a limit on the total number of participants for this - otherwise it's going to get messy. I suggest 20 peeps should be the maximum and attendance should be taken to make sure people who are committing are actually attending. It's only fair for those trying to get in.

Here is the revised list of what I will bring (I am dropping one larger light stand as it is not very portable.)

1x Nano compact light stand
1x White shoot thru umbrella
1x 580 ex2
1x Nikon SB-28
Off camera flash cord (2')
ST-E2 wireless flash transmitter
CTR-301P (2x Tx, 3x Rx)

I have two triggers and three receivers so *Piglet* if you want to borrow a set you are more than welcome.

Agreed, please everyone confirm and again, priority is given to those that are on the "Bringing gear" list. I am going to organize it a bit closer to the date when I get a confirmation of who's coming.

I have a few ideas on how to handle this and I think it will be easier once we get a confirmation of who's coming.

No, others will be definitely allowed to shoot as well. Its up to the owner of the equipment as well.

So two models backed out now because they got free passes to a TIFF gala tomorrow night...

that leaves me with 1 model now... man, why does this have to happen to me.

Looks like we may end up taking pics of ourselves
