"An line of thunderstorms is expected to develop over Lake Huron then track rapidly eastward across Southern Ontario late this afternoon and this evening. The threat for storms will begin in areas near Lake Huron between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM then move eastward to reach a line from Eastern Lake Erie through the Golden Horseshoe to the upper Ottawa Valley by 8:00 PM. Some of these storms will have the potential to be severe with large hail, damaging winds, and torrential downpours. There will also be the potential for isolated tornadoes. This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes..Monitor weather conditions and listen for updated bulletins."

Could be a fun sky tonight, I'm hoping it stays dry enough for me to get there in my lack of preparation!

Looks like I may be game to come after all. I just hope it doesn't rain anymore. I will probably meet up with everyone a bit later on though so David is your cell still the same number as it was last year?

To the guys affraid of a little rain... Wimps!

I'm thinking it will be quite nice in the rain - midway lights reflected on the wet pavement. Possibly dramatic skies before sunset. I'll be there - but late. Still at work for a while yet. Depends on whether I ride my bike in the lighnting or take the slower option (TTC)
Hope to bump in to a few people near the ferris wheel after dark (sounds kinda sleazy, doesn't it?)

We are getting one hell of a light show tonight though, so I hope someone has their camera set up!

I heard the last of the ferris wheel passengers with accounts of lightning in the distance. That was when they started to shut the rides down. That is when I chose to bail. I got to my car just as the rain started.

Enjoyed the even gin regardless on the lookout for a second event to get the rest of the spinning light shots I missed today.

I was there, but I didn't read about the earlier meeting time...I just assumed it was as usual, 6pm for the parade, which I arrived just in time for; couldn't make it for five anyway as I was at the Dufferin Gate at 5.

I did get caught in the weather though...I was looking at the BMO field from the Food building at the time when it looked like lightning struck the field.

Didn't do much night shooting tonight, but got a lot of shopping in, but then again I'm going back again today for most of the day anyway.

I think I may have gotten a couple of lightning shots from the parking garage at Yorkdale. It was a fun night, even if it was cut a bit short by the weather.

I got there late 8ish just as it was about to get dark - I saw a few people with cameras but desparately wanted to get a few shots with the nice skies in before it was dark. I went to the food building as dusk fell to eat dinner to wait fr the skies to get dark and talked to the Ghazale falafel folks (I know'em from their Bloor St location). I didn't get back to the midway until 9ish expecting most people to be there. I set up shop at the swing ride just as they started to shut the rides down. Got a few off of it which were nice. Maybe a few candids of people at the betting tables. I ended up in the ricoh/convention hall and then they announced that due to the storm they were shutting it early - just as the rain started to come crashing down. I would have stayed if they hadn't turned off all the midway lights.
