Hi Manekineko - there is still room for one more in my car if you can make your way up to Yorkdale Mall.

I also still have 3 rooms in my car. I'm in North York area. Picking up in spots along 401 westbound is fine too. Don Mills / YongeSheppard / Yorkdale. :)

Update:
1 spot filled in by lateonomen
2 more spots available.

Looks like I will be able to go... (as long as I can get a ride with someone)
Looking forward to it! :)

Ok my car is now full,

Alice
FriendlyPiranha
Manekineko

All have spots in my car. The meet time at Hilton Falls is 10am - so I'd like to pick everyone up around 9ish at Yorkdale, in front of the Chapters Entrance (it should take about 40 mins to get to the falls from Yorkdale.)

Also please keep in mind that I will be at this event for the whole day (until it ends, enjoying dinner) so if anyone needs to leave early please make sure you make alternate arrangements for getting home.

J.

Just a handful of days away, weather currently looks dry at least. Probably going to bright so those of you with NDs are in better shape.

I am moving the start time back to 10:15 to accommodate for a few people coming by GO transit to Burlington. Our option for these people is to arrive 10-15 minutes after 10 or about an hour early and it means a much earlier start time for those coming by train.

If you're there early and don't want to sit around sipping your Tim's waiting there is a pond up the hill and to the right of the parking lot at Hilton Falls where you may be able to get some good reflection shots.

Also, there is a parking fee of $12 per car for Hilton Falls, I am pretty sure you can hold onto the receipt and also use it at Tews, Websters and the Buttermilk cascade. Because of this if someone is driving alone we should try and carpool a bit.

This sounds like a lot of fun and I want to attend but I have no idea how to get there. New to this forum so if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. Or if anyone still has room in their car that would be awesome as well.

Don Mills Station/Yorkdale are fine with me.

@ssango and @ah_kev, unfortunately my car is now full.

Chris:
I'm assuming there will be a lot of hiking.. based on your experience on the terrain, does regular walking shoes enough?
Also, do you think we need to bring some lunch (I'm not sure where we will be during lunch time period - 1pm-3pm)?
Last question , just curious as to what time do you project we'll be finish on Sat?

Thanks,
Martin

Yes. A lot of hiking but regular comfy sneakers are fine.

Food. Yeah, we'll stop. Maybe something quick after Hilton Falls - Tim's or other fast food type thing and then in Ancaster for post shoot refreshment. Bring snacks though. It's a long day with lots of walking. You will be tired and hungry at the end. :)

Projected finish time? Hmm the last one went from about 11AM until around 9PM and we didn't do Felker's. Of course sunset is before 7PM now so I don't think we'll be doing much shooting beyond then. Of course there is the potential for impromptu night shooting, it's happened before. :)

Hmm..
Lots of Hiking + less meals ... I think I will go home slimmer and less heavier. LOL.

THanks for the info. See you all on Saturday. :D

Alright, I think I'll join you guys for a bit of this outing.
I've been to Hilton before and, to be honest, for that amount of walking, it was a bit of a let down for me.
Did I mention I was lazy?
And it looks like the walk to the base of Tew's is about 3hrs round trip.
Soooo, with that in mind (did I mention that I was lazy?) I think I'll meet you guys at Buttermilk.
I'll probably hit up Tiffany Falls, Mill Falls, Sherman Falls and/or Dundas Falls (all in the Ancaster/Dundas area) and then meet you at Buttermilk.
Also, another one to consider at the end of the day would be Devil's Punch Bowl, if only because it has an awesome name...

I have no plans to do the Tew's base Saturday (although maybe a weekday next week if the weather is good...). It is a considerable hike and kinda a whole day event. And, although, yes, Hilton Falls is hardly roaring grandiosity, I am hoping the walk through the woods will be good for some fall foliageness.

I find the devil's punchbowl not much to look at (at least from the very few observations points in the area). Now I have never been down to the base of it - that may be a different story though!

It's usually kinda dry at the punchbowl. There has been rain lately...

If you park at the bottom (across the tracks) you can walk up into the bowl pretty easily...
...actually, both the base of Felker and the base of Devil's are accessible off King St, and not too far from each other...so if you do one, you might as well do both

I'm feeling lazy and will prob stick around the Ancaster/Dundas area and wait to meet you guys either at Webster's or at Buttermilk...

Thanks to all for a great time.

Trip had balls!
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ofermod/5066164741/" title="DSC_6575 by ofermod, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4113/5066164741_99e9b195df.jpg" width="500" height="334" alt="DSC_6575"></a>

Colour balance is all over the place -- not sure if it's the Sigma lens, or just the way things are. Will be some time 'til I get the rest processed.
