Couldn't make it today as I am still gainfully employed - but may not be if they add up all my WC football viewiing time!!!

I am more interested in photographing these ships in the water when at full mast. Anyone know when/if this is? Please please PLEASE don't let it be during the Pride Parade or after the sun sets!!!

Anyone have a luxury sailboat? Hmmm, TPMG'ers, shouldn't we be pooling our money for things like this? I got $5.

Never seen so much rope in one day LOL. Crowds weren't all that bad today, probably given that it was still a working day for some.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/tanm/4756387888/" title="Brig Roald Amundsen by Tanner., on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4123/4756387888_373d7daf61_b.jpg" width="1024" height="696" alt="Brig Roald Amundsen"></a>

ions mentioned something that would be interesting to catch... tall ships going through the Erie Canal.

It was a great event even with the harsh harsh sun. We even saw a dingo! No babies were eaten.

Nice meeting you guys, and thanks for organizing lxdesign.

-1 for Shoeless Joe's.

Funny. We almost went there on Thursday.

For the record: -1 for Spice Thai Cafe across the street. Well, the guy was kinda funny (double price for Canada Day!), but poor service on the patio.

Has anyone been able to sort out what time exactly that they're setting off? No times are listed on the Parade of Sails page.

So leaving Toronto at 4 and due in Cleveland by Wednesday for the show there. My rough guess 5PM in St. Catharines for them coming across the water...

Empire Sandy and Kajama are the only two ships that are offering rides. They're also the two ships based in Toronto that provides cruises throughout the summer.

Thanks, Mike. I'll be there today, but sorry guys, I won't be able to join TPMG "band". I lead a non- (or rather semi-) photographic group ;-) If I see you, I'll come to say hello :-)

I could not see you guys, because we started 12:30 and we saw only 3 first ships (The festival was not our event's target). Show your pictures, please, I would like to see what we missed. Here is my second picture from very few taken with the ships:

There are/were a couple that did short lunch/booze cruise type tours. Including that one, the Kajama.

Edit: Slow post by me apparently.

Seeing the ships out in Lake Ontario vs it being docked and with the crowd would be great to see. Just didn't

You may still have a chance! I found this site which tracks the location of the ships. I'm heading down to ST. Catharines for 5PM I think.

Oops, yes the Empire Sandy indeed. again.

I got a spot with plenty of others on the East side rocks of Ontario Place. Almost too close to the ships. Here's the Brig Niagara.

Looks like they're going to arrive around sunset or after... Denis Sullivan and Pride of Baltimore II appears to be halfway to St. Catherine at around 5PM.

I caught shots of a few, it was worth the trip. If anyone is compelled to go most of them will have to wait for the locks to open in the morning tomorrow and there'll be a steady parade. When I left at 21:00 there were a handful of then anchoring just off the entrance to the canal.
